For now they are getting 1 star because I’ve been outside here since 9:30… the time they open and it’s now 9:43… nobody answering the phone… will update, that is if I ever get into the damn place.

So I’ve been coming to this place for a couple years and two weeks ago I came in after not getting my nails done for months. I decided I wanted to get a nice set. The first week went well, but then my nails started lifting so I’m getting ready to go back to get a fill-in soon . I noticed my left index finger was lifting the most, so I started picking at it and took it off not realizing my real nail was still stuck on the acrylic because it was filed down so much and I took it . I decided to go to another place and they told me my right index finger and my right Thumb and my left thumb Were extremely thin and I could’ve lost those nails as well.. I still decided to get my nails filled in besides my left index finger since I have no nail and I’m starting to notice my fingers that the other nail place told me are turning green.. . This location was my go to all the time, but after this experience, sadly I will not ever go back here. Please don’t file others people nails so much!! It’s so painful !!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!!!!! LOST ALL MY NAILS

I visited Number One Nails in Villa Park and had an amazing experience. Although I arrived at five minutes to 7 PM and their sign said they closed at 6 PM, the door was open and there were people inside. I asked if I could get a pedicure, and they warmly welcomed me in without any hesitation.
The staff was very nice and friendly. They offered me a massage with hot rocks for my legs, which was incredible. This was my first time at Number One Nails, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service. Thank you very much for making my visit so awesome!

they claim they can do design and they can’t even do simple things i wouldn’t recommend them i had to pay 60 for nails that look like a 5 year old did them

I held out great hope. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Yes, I was able to walk in without an appointment and that helped since my regular place was unavailable and it doesn't hurt to have a backup. The whole experience felt rushed and the attention to detail was lacking. Poor job on my feet with not much in the way of some dead skin removal on my heels or a callous. The hands weren't much better with missed detail's on the cuticles. The color application was average. All this was either because they were closing soon, the manicurist wasn't very good, or she thought because I was a man that I wouldn't care, notice, or deserve a better job. I won't be back.

First, I had a fill in and a no chip. Work was done by Tina and it was terrible. I like my nails simple—short and squared off—my nails look like a child did them. She left them Uneven, all different shapes, just very sloppy work. I have burrs on the the edges of my nails, the nail color and top coat isn’t covering the entire nail and so it shrunk back in the curing process. Also, she put zero base coat on and didn’t clean up the sides so polish was left in the ridges at the sides of my nails. Also—aesthetic of this place is a dump—tired and in need of a total overhaul. Hand wash sinks are dingy, dirty and old and pedicure chairs are ripped and falling apart. Not sure if other nail techs are better, but it doesn’t matter bc I won’t ever return. Buyer beware—Total waste of money.Edit: added pic ONE day after my “no chip”. I’ve been getting no chip manis for 10+ years—this is totally unacceptable. Save your money for a place that does it right.
