The shop is multi-generational woman owned and you can tell how much they care about what they do in the care they have for the store and the way it’s organized. “Honestly, please ignore all those one star reviews! Screw them! Especially the ones regarding the bathroom it’s just blasphemy. Ultimate Treasures is not only an amazing antique & thrift store filled with ANYTHING you could ask for from couches to art to movies to books to clothes to even good condition used toiletries & cooking products even TJ’s brand olive oil well hell you name it… BUT it is an incredible first date idea (like guys- write this down)! You can go exploring down every aisle & always find something incredible & worthwhile! This store has so much to offer though seriously. So I mean ‘tis the season to bring your Valentine here & go find a relic that will last an era of romance & adoration! Ps if someone could please give the leather jacket that is so sick and says “Babe Squad” on the back a great home & then please post a review with a photo of you flaunting it I’d absolutely love that (I don’t have the confidence)! Anyways, just please please please if you don’t do anything else in Downers Grove, at least make a stop to Ultimate Treasures! It’s a life changing destination to add to your list. And maybe you’ll fall in love… who knows!”

“This is the only place to purchase Lanzi Carnel nut chew candy. I called a bunch of different stores and nobody knew what I was talking about. I will definitely be back as the store has alot of random things wives live to buy. The person at this location (wish I asked for her name) extremely helpful and made my experience very nice. This unique store sells higher-end furniture and decor with 100% of the profits benefitting Wellness House, which provides support and services for those with, or affected by, cancer. Volunteers staff the store and there is new inventory weekly. Shopping here is a win-win!”

“I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Friedman, his son Steve, and his colleague Tim. They were all very pleasant.
I reached out via email regarding an inherited stamp collection, and Dr. Bob was patient and very explanatory. We scheduled a time to come visit and discuss, to see if there was any sale value to Dr. Bob's shop. He did purchase a portion, and provided me with an appraisal and recommendations on what/where to do with the remainder of the collection.
I am grateful for Friedman & Sons expertise and professionalism - it has helped me to find a place for a century+ old collection of stamps that will now be loved appropriately by those in the philately community.

“Tired of following signs that advertise 'ANTIQUES' only to find a buiding full of Beanie Babies, 1970s kitchenware, and your high school yearbook? Sign of the Whale offers none of that. What you will find are authentic antiques - not reproductions - pleasingly displayed in a clean and organized setting. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly and I'll be stopping there whenever I am near Glen Ellyn.”

“We had so much fun here. I've had a few people mention an antique shop that has a bunch of Nick Cage pictures everywhere, and I was delighted to find that it was this one! There is over 12,000 square feet of booths so plan accordingly because there are lots of things to sort through. Some of the booths that stood out to me included one with lots of vintage magazine cutouts and another with items from Japan (Tokyo DisneySea merch is always a fun find!). The staff were really attentive - if we were holding something while browsing, they took it off our hands until we were ready to check out. Truly, you could spend hours here! Can't wait to visit again!”
