We got glasses recently and I needed to fill out forms for the insurance to cover it. The form needed a tax id number (this is the number that the IRS uses to track each company paying taxes and social security) so I called to ask for it. I was given a number in years past so I assumed it would be easy to get. I spoke to Robert the manager. He informed me that they do not have a tax ID number. I asked to speak to his manager and was told that his manager can only be reached by calling 1-800- Walmart. His manager is in charge of all 5000 Walmart optical centers. This all sounds very fishy to me. How can a legal company not have a tax ID number and have one manager that runs all 5000 optical centers in the US. If this is all true no wonder why Robert has horrible customer service and can not answer simple questions. BEWARE when going to this location if you need to fill out your own insurance forms!

I went here to buy 2 pairs of glasses before a trip. Someone was in the back and I asked if they had wipes to clean glasses, he said just the cloth ones, then he turned around and continued his work. I wound up buying some alcohol swabs in the store, then went back and tried some glasses on. Only when an older couple came in, did he come out from the back and helped them. Then when they left, he went to the back. He never once offered to help me or ask which pairs I wanted. I was going to buy 2 pairs, but wound up going online to another site and buying them. Such a shame, there were 2 perfect pairs there that I really wanted. :(

The Walmart in Villa Park doesn't seem to have many appointments available because the Dr is never in and doesn't have a set schedule to be able to make an appointment. And when we finally did get an appointment, it snowed a little bit they called and cancelled. Will never try that Walmart optical again. Good thing Addison Walmart likes to do business no run around like Villa Park and they are cheaper taxes!!

I have been going to Dr. Taraji for 17 years. He is awesome and pleasant. He was recommended to me by a friend long ago. I can't tell you how many people go there and are really satisfied. I must admit I don't like Walmart but I go there exclusively for him. I tried Costco once and just didn't like it compared to him.

Saw a bad review and thought I should put my 2 cents in. Been going to Dr. Taraji for close to 18 years now, since I moved to Villa Park. I have had nothing but excellent service and good products through this vision center. I pay less than most other places, they take my insurance with no hassles. I NEVER get an up sell. (Try American Vision center some time) Cons: Probably lack of selection. They have all the frames you need, maybe not all you want.

Avoid this place like the plague. I've paid a fitting fee for service that I have not yet received. They are nice and sweet until they get your money and then you better forget about any type of customer service. They claim that they had to order a pair of contact lenses for me and that it would be available in a week. Well two weeks later and two phone calls later and still nothing. Just got the run around and rude attitude when I called. They can be rude once they got the money. On the first phone call, the person raised his voice when I asked when will my lenses be available. On the second phone call, the person said that they do appointments until 6pm but once they found out I was waiting for my lenses, the time magically changed to 4pm. Thank goodness I didn't order my glasses from here. Not to mention that if the lenses ever arrive, I will still have to go back for a third time to get them to hand over the prescription that I've already paid for. By this time, I could already be enjoying my lenses if I went elsewhere.
