I have been banking with CEFCU since I was 16 (I’m 22 now). I never really had good experiences with them, as time went on. It just got worse and worse. About 1-2 years ago I had to get a new card about 5-6 different times in ONE year. All because they “turned it off for safety” then stated “I cannot turn the car back on, you have to come get a new one”. They would turn it off even when I was just trying to get breakfast, was very inconvenient for me especially that was when I was working night shifts at the hospital. I have also spoken with one of the managers at the time; quote “It’s really not my problem that you keep spending your money and we have to watch you” even though there was no need. I also have financed two different vehicles through them, never had an issue. This year I’m having my first baby on the way, so I need to upgrade to an SUV. As the car I had was very small, holding by a limp and a toothpick, and not safe for a newborn baby. I went to Honda to find a car through them, but no CEFCU stated in front of me and two Honda workers “She does not need a new car. We’re denying it for that reason”. I was baffled! I thought since I’ve built trust and credit, I would have a better chance. But that was it, that was all. I had to bank through somewhere else just to make sure I can have a safe and reliable car. Lastly, I did travel a lot the last few years, I would always call in advance so my cards didn’t get turned off, they still did. Then made it a long process when I was trying to get gas, very inconvenient and very little to no listening. It’s been years and I’ve been keeping my mouth shut about this company. Please consider they do not look out for you, they don’t care for you. They will do you dirty no matter how long you have banned with them. They truly only care about money and their “numbers”.

Washington staff is very nice. CEFCU is a good credit union in the area. Will give it a 4 star rating. The only complaint I have is that if you have a credit card with CEFCU, fraud alerts happen way too frequently for credit card purchases. If you do not opt in for approving/denying purchases from your phone/app , it is a serious annoyance to have to get ahold of CEFCU over the phone to get your card turned back on. I have had to do this over 20 plus times, no exageration on that number. I appreciate the security department, but that is a serious issue that needs to be reevaluated for people who do not want to opt in to the notifications.

I left this Cefcu today in complete disbelief regarding an interaction I had…
Went to the drive up window to see if that had any euro’s on hand for an upcoming trip.
They didn’t- and that wasn’t an issue as I figured it was long shot….
The teller then asked if were traveling soon - we simply said yes and then she told us to write down, when, where and the method of travel.
Nearly done, writing down my travel plans as requested by the teller….
Then all the sudden in panic, she insisted we leave the drive through as I’m blocking the window from other members….
There were 5 lanes open…
And one other car next to us….
Best part is she walked away before we could respond.
We have been a members here for 15+ years and don’t like they way the treat people like numbers…
They say they’re not a bank- “they’re better”.
Would like to know how…

Shouldn't have someone whose rude working the drive thru window, went to cash my check today and met the rudest lady I've ever had to deal with at cefuc and I've banked with cefcu for many, many years and have never had a single bad experience until today. The lady was just mind-blowingly rude for no reason.

Very disappointed. You no longer have the experience of it being Hometown. Now you're just a number. It's definitely run like a business & not in a good way. Sad I use to recommend them highly. No longer.
