“I had wasted two weeks of my life in several two hour chunks attempting to change my account from my corporate account to a personal account. My husband and I retired and are both in our midseventies and wanted to take advantage of the lower priced senior discount. What a disaster! I tried going into a business store in South County and was told I could only do this on line. I spent two hrs on hold only to be disconnected. After another attempt I spoke with someone for whome English was not their native language and the connection was terrible. He finally told me I had to go back to the store! I demanded to speak to a supervisor and after several sessions of being placed on hold, I was disconnected. I tried calling from my home and left callback numbers and three times I was called and disconnected. All I wished at this point was that I could switch to another service provider, but due to my geographical location this was not an option. Again I returned to the business store in South County Missouri. The store had one employee on duty and he was swamped. I waited an hour then tried calling a representative again. After a 37 minute wait I got thru. Again the person to whom I was speaking did not have English as their primary language. We struggled along for almost two hours during which time I had to drive to a doctor's appointment while maintaining my att connection for fear of losing all the ground I had gained. The att rep managed to close my business account and in spite of receiving all needed information up to and including a credit check to set up my new personal account, she managed to disconnect me succeeding in leaving me with no phone service at all. My employer could not reach me, my husband was frantic not knowing what was happening with my doctor appointment? On my way home with my useless phone, I took a chance and stopped at the att store in Waterloo, IL. I had no expectation of assistance but I was desperate. The young man on duty, Kyle (my ATT angel!!!) went above and beyond the call of duty. He spent at least two hours getting g through to someone who had to first reinstate my business account, then cancel it and set up a personal account. None of it was easy. He was so diligent and despite the obstacles that were put in his path, he managed to give me back a working phone with the correct service. I will spare you all the gory details but somehow he managed to wade through the BS and return me to an active service.
