Terrible if not the worst bank I’ve used in my 36 year life span. I recently opened a business account here and they referred and highly recommended using Paycor. Paycor turns out to be a fraudulent company that says one thing and does another. It’s now been 22 days that I have been trying to stop doing business with them and have asked fifth third reps to help me in this manner. They have done absolutely nothing to help their “valued customer” in the manner. Instead all I get is I’m sorry, and let me see what we can do. But nothing changes. I have asked Carmen for some sort of compensation in this manner and I get no response. Even though they are the ones that referred their “valued customer” to a 1.3/5 star company. Carmen and Tom i have filed complaints with fifth third HQ and the Illinois attorney general. You as bankers should under how important it is to refer “valued customers” to reputable companies. Now that I’m a pissed off customer they want nothing to do with me. Well I’m not going away so make this right or I will continue my mission.

Don't bank here - they steal your money!!!
I opened a business checking account and made an initial deposit of $1000. They then transferred $500,000 OUT of my checking account without my permission and sent me a daily message saying I owe them $499,000.00!
Debit card never worked. Online access never worked. No banking function ever actually worked. I closed the account after the $500,000 unauthorized money transfer ordeal, but they still won't give me back my original $1000.00! Phone support tells me to go to the branch. The branch people are nice, but they really can't help me. No one is certain where they sent the original $1000, but lately they've been thinking they still have it and didn't send it anywhere. Either way, they won't give it back to me. If you open a checking account, be sure to get in writing what the criteria is to get your account's funds if you close the account. They asked for a copy of a gas bill and my social security card. I already provided my driver's license, passport, an IRS EIN letter and articles of incorporation. They sent me a letter asking me to provide recent banking statements from OTHER banks, along with business permits and licenses, and last year's tax statements along with several other documents before they would refund my original deposit of $1000, even though the account is closed. I have no way of withdrawing my money. I was robbed in the bank by the bank itself. It is like some Nigerian phishing scam, but nope, it is right here in Wauconda, Illinois.
Bank is a scam! They will steal your money and keep it. They kept mine. $1000 gone.
UPDATE - they eventually sent me a check for my $1000 opening balance. It took them 8 months from the time I closed the account and much hassle, but they did eventually send it.

I am very disappointed with the recent service provided to me and my wife. I am a long time client who dealt with Jorge. Jorge was a very personable teller and it seemed as if he knew every single one of his customer's name. He was a valuable asset to myself and many family members of mine. I was helped by Jorge with great comfort and don't feel it is right to bank with tellers who truly don't explain to you the things as it should be. I would hesitate to return here as it seems to me like their staff is miserable and just want to get you out the door quick so they can do whatever it is that they where doing.

a couple days ago I went in for an issue I was having with my account and asked for Jorge as I always do to then find out he no longer works there. I am super upset because none of the other bankers are helpful and understanding as he was to me, my family, and especially the Latino community. I’m afraid I’ll be calling customer service more than to go into this fifth third for help.

Tom Plonowski and the entire staff at the Wauconda, il branch did an outstanding job, they were efficient, well trained and actually answer phones LIVE everytime with care and follow up. In addition they by far had the best savings rates, highly recommend as true customer service is so hard to find, but so appreciated! Thanks again, Mike from ING is good apparel.

Tom \u0026 Frank were amazing and went above and beyond to help me. I had a death in the family and they took the time to actually help me and called me to let me know that they completed the final steps today. I would recomend these two guys for anything. If you need anything on the personal banker side these two are the best I have met my entire life. Thank you for making it so smooth in these times that are so hard for me.

Very friendly staff and tellers . Very helpful with paying Lake County Taxes and no B.S like other banks in the area. I will be considering transferring other bank accounts i have to Fifth Third and do business with them.

This is probably the worst bank in lake county. They ignore you and try to look busy as you sit for up to an hour waiting. The interior of the bank is like walking into 1975. Plenty of other Banks in the area don't waste your time with this dump or crappy service. Even the manager doesn't give a s---.

I've been meaning to leave my comment for quite some time. I love this bank and the entire staff there. They are friendly, helpful, and always say hello to me and make me feel welcome. They have the best customer service of any bank I have ever dealt with. Any of my friends know that I hate banks but not THIS bank. I would bring my business there for any of my banking needs. This branch of 5/3 is highly recommended. I truly hope this branch stays here in Wauconda forever....and the staff, too.
