It was a horrible experience. Evelyn Camacho is very rude if you want to read the documents you are given to sign. I am not confident about her tax preparation, although I paid double the price I did last year by switching to H&R. I will never give H&R my business again.
UPDATE: Tried to call H&R. A representative set me up with another appointment at the same location with another tax preparer. HOW IS THAT HELPING?

When my tax return was processed they did not update my address or my employer on my W2. It seems they just copied information from the previous year after I personally went into the office and hand them the info. This error required an amended return causing me to wait 16 weeks for a return. Will not use them again

HORRIBLE!!!! How does a tax filing business not know that IL 529’s qualify for a state deduction. At first I was told the 529 was not eligible, even after they asked the manager. I showed her the document showing that it IS eligible. Then she wanted to deduct the balance not the contributions for the year. After explaining that’s NOT correct, it’s just the contributions, she still didn’t understand. I then had to explain the program. The “manager” then kindly highlighted the part about how it could easily be done using your statements, which I had … then proceeded to tell me I needed a tax document, not my statements! Oh then she wanted to use the contribution amounts from the example tax filing document. I took my stuff and left… clearly incompetent! How are you processing tax returns in IL and are unaware of the IL 529 saving program!

12/19/24 (Thursday) Had an appointment that was made online. Drove 45 minutes to this location. Appointment was for 11am. Arrived at location to find they are closed. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes customer service rep tell me they are not available until tax season. H and R block should update their info so they don't waste peoples valuable time. I am a business owner and this is not acceptable to have and provide false information.

Service was fine the price was ridiculous $300 for a simple return. I wasn't even there 1/2 an hour. Went to this location because they were open later than the Cary location. Should have waited and gone to Cary. My brother went there and only paid $150. Seriously!!!! When is price gouging going to stop. Beyond ridiculous

Kimberly Hayes the receptionist for Wauconda hr block is terrible. Needs a customer service class or needs to be working in the back of the house! I have never been treated so poorly, as if acknowledging my presence was an inconvenience. My son and husband on separate occasions were treated just as poorly! I will be following my tax specialist Cheryl anywhere she goes. Have been with cheryl for years!

I had an appointment for 6 pm and when I arrived I sat in the front for 20 minutes before someone said oh your appointment is at 7pm. Come to realize I was told repeatedly I didn’t have an appointment and I was on a waiting list despite my text and email confirmations. Then once I sat with someone I was told how busy they were again and how I was on a waiting list and then told me I could do my taxes myself and don’t need them. When I said I am ok paying you to do my taxes I was told to go home do them myself and call with any questions. I have been using HR Block for at least 15 years and I will never go into the wauconda office again. Very unprofessional and poorly run office.
