The renovations are looking great, but lately it seems that there aren’t enough cashiers staffed and the customer keeps getting pushed to work with self checkout, which often has hiccups. Personally, I feel it’s a horrible experience when you’re not shopping for only a couple of items. Also, would love to see some shopping baskets.

I called in at the beginning of this month to place an order for the thanksgiving dinner as I do every year, from different stores, depending on which family member’s home we are celebrating at.Yesterday 11/10 I received a phone call telling me that I needed to come in and pre pay for my order on 11/10 or 11/11 otherwise it would not be reserved. I was a bit confused because I’ve never had to pay this far in advance but agreed to come in since our family enjoys the dinner.Today, 11/11 I went in to pay for my order and as I approached the counter there were three employees visible. One taking care of a customer and two not helping customers. I made eye contact with a woman with red hair expecting her to greet me and she said absolutely nothing so I thought maybe she wasn’t taking customers and I simply needed to wait for the older short haired woman to be finished with the customer ahead of me. When she said goodbye to them she simply turned away from me and went to talk to the other two workers. That is when the woman with red hair stepped forward again and I had to initiate verbal communication.Working in the service Industry for decades, I know that verbally acknowledging your customer should be one of the first things you do, even if it is to say I will be with you shortly.My order was nowhere to be found so a nicer woman that seemed to be some kind of supervisor took a new order for me and accompanied me to make the payment. This woman was very professional and kind, I was grateful for her.My review is mainly because of the initial interaction with deli staff. You only have one chance to make a first impression and they really dropped the ball. I also think it would be beneficial in order to build trust with the community you serve, to be up front and let us know you expect payment when the order is placed. I am trusting you to follow safe and hygienic practices with food my family will consume and should not be made to feel like I have bad intentions. I understand theft and loss is a huge problem in retail, but I’d love it if as a company, you’d also work on not treating your customers like criminals.Sorry for the lengthy review. I really needed to express my thoughts on this as I’d love to continue to shop here and not feel as if I’m doing something ilegal every time I’m there.

Whenever I'm in the area, I like to stop here. It's got a nice wide selection of ethnic options. And their meat selection is pretty good.

I bought their fresh squeezed orange juice and it turned out to be watered down. This is disrespectful towards customers and just makes me sad.

Lately the lines to checkout have been over a 30 minute wait. The lines have been going into the aisles. They need more cashiers because I’ve seen people get out of line because of the wait.

I'm impressed with the upgrades. I don't shop here a lot. I ran in for a couple of items. Store was busy. There wasn't a long wait to check-out.The self check out doesn't accept change (coins) but it gives change back...The layout of the store is nice. The store is clean and all items are stocked.

Update: I did get a call from the Store Manager offering me a gift card for the inconvenience, which was much appreciated. But after reading others reviews on here within the last 2 weeks it shows me I'm not the only one that has had issues with spoiled products.I like Tony’s BUT the Waukegan location has sold me spoiled products on 2 occasions. I will continue to drive to Round Lake but why is the management not keeping to basic standards for rotating stock and shelf life?????

Let me start off with I like Tony's. Just not the Waukegan location on Lewis ave. I stopped going to this location after buying spoiled meat. So I normally just take the trip to Round Lake. Well dumb me to try the Waukegan location again...and what happens...moldy products. I don't know if they don't care about the customer base in this area ... but the management at this location clearly aren't holding any basic standards.

Not like the other Tony's I have been to. Discombobulated and confusing with the construction going on. Only 2 registers open at 6 in the evening

The store has been remodeled as it was long overdue. It looks amazing. It is very organized and items are easy to find.

I shopped here for older, disabled men and women on the Instacart platform. So I’m here often sometimes back to back, and the security Officer who works here always seems to follow and harass me because he sees me back and forth. I asked him “Where is the supervisor”?, and he asked why? I told him I didn’t feel comfortable, EVERYTIME I’m here he makes his way to follow me all the way to the register. Then he screams in my face in the middle of self checkout while everyone watches, that I’m nobody special he’s just doing his job. He even went so far to walk up on me one day I was here at the register, to excuse me to get the hand basket that was under the register. . He thinks I don’t know what harassment is, and using his job title as an excuse. I have reported to the Instacart platform, about discrimination at this location and not feeling safe so I won’t return. I tried to speak with a supervisor he didn’t get anyone or the other workers who were watching him scream in my face. Other than that the store is always cleaned and fully stocked, and the guys where the seafood is are extremely nice people no matter how many times I come. Thank you!

Very good service specifically the colombian young guy the work in the fast self check out very polite and helpful.
