I never want to leave a bad review anywhere, but I feel that it's important to share what happened to me. I went to the supermercado on Friday, February 7th. The coffee shop next door was excellent, but I wanted something more substantial to eat. So I ordered two quesadillas. Not even within an hour of eating the first one I felt horribly sick. And that started the last two days of illness--vomiting and diarrhea nonstop, weakness, unable to keep food down. It essentially derailed my vacation, not to mention it was just a miserable experience. I'm writing this still in bed with symptoms. This can be prevented in the future by ensuring all staff are being diligent about washing their hands while handling food. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

I bought skirt steak and it was passed through the tenderizer. The meat was really tough I should of known when i bought it because it didn’t have any marbling. Talk about low grade meat . I will never by meat there again.

Wow! This place takes me back to my childhood! I haven't been to a supermercado since I was 15 years old and that was 15 years ago! I love the smell of tortillas and food inside. I went there for the first time today to go to "Drip and Culture" for a double date. I also picked up half a dozen tamales! They were pretty good, chicken was a bit dry but I've had way drier so it's not a big deal. They were tasty! They're also well priced considering the ingredients and amount of work it takes to make them! I was in awe when I noticed the Mexican artesanía section! Definitely wanna grab some stuff there next time. Staff was helpful, I struggle speaking Spanish but understand it better, so it was nice to have an employee help me with asking about the tamales. I love that this place makes me feel right at home since moving far away from family. Keeps me in touch with my culture. Also, gotta love the prices!

The store is one of the best in the area, the only bad thing is the area where they sell the carnitas. They label the products incorrectly and you end up paying a little more.

The taqueros respond in a bad mood. Today I ordered 6 tacos, I waited more than 15 minutes, they saw me and they never placed my order. I asked them, are my tacos coming out and as if nothing had happened?

The 5 star ratings are for the Amazing taco deals They give you plenty of meat and vegetables and it cost only $2.50 Per taco which is a great deal. The rest of the grocery is four stars because the prices are a bit high for the vegetables and fruit. So enjoy the food portion area where you can get fresh food made and you can eat it there with tables and a TV and there’s also a bathroom. Plenty of parking that’s free in the lot.

This supermarket is underhyped. The actual market has a decent selection of Hispanic products and Goods. Along with the supermarket, they also have a coffee shop, a deli type area, and a juicery(by the cash registers). The deli has selection of authentic Hispanic prepared food. The tortas, carnitas, and tamales are a staple. There is also an eating area. Since moving, I miss it It is also close to downtown Waukegan and the navy base.

I shopped at this store for the first time this weekend. Unfortunately the giant bag of cheese I bought had mold that I didn't notice til I got home. It's a cute small shop for basic needs but maybe don't get the dairy products or go to the store less than a block away
