These people care about animals; they are a shelter for animals that need caring homes. I always give more money than what they ask for their affordable products. The people who work here are wonderful animal caretakers

I came across a cat on Petfinder that was listed from this rescue and followed the instructions on their website to fill out the online application. I says that the applications take 48-72 hours to process, then they contact you for an interview, then you meet with the foster family and hopefully adopt the pet. The application asks for a lot of detailed information like 3 non-family references, amount of money you intend to spend each year on the pet, proof that your lease allows you to have pets, etc. This sounded very professional and a bit above and beyond for adopting a pet, but I get it, they want to ensure the animal goes to a good home. The adoption fee was also $225, which is pretty high compared to other organizations in the area, but it seemed like good cause, so I was okay with that fee. I filled out the application and waited over 72 hours and hearing nothing, called the phone number on the website. I left a voicemail and after another few days still heard nothing. Then I sent an email. It's been 2 weeks now and I've heard nothing. I'm disappointed because the cat sounded like just what I was looking for. I'm guessing she was already adopted because she's now removed from their website. I get that it's a volunteer run organization, but a simple email to let me know the cat wasn't available anymore would have been nice. I was excited to possibly find the perfect cat. I'm just very disappointed to be ghosted by this organization and wanted to share in case other people experience the same thing.

Everyone at A Heart for Animals are so caring, patient. We got our Beagle through this agency. The foster was super supportive, we were given as much information about the dog as we could get. Overall fantastic experience for our first adoption.
