βFirst time visiting AW Auto.. had not been familiar with them but had to get my vehicle in somewhere quick after the local Firestone could not diagnose the problem. Spoke to Michelle initially and basically she gave her input and chatted while I just decided to get my car in without further issues as my car was miss-firing and wasn't looking good. Left the car with AW and Michelle even gave me a ride back home so I wasn't paying for a ride. They called back with the details and also contacted my warranty provider to assist with everything and had the car ready promptly and back in order. Got to meet and speak with Jim for quite a bit and they were all very knowledgeable and experienced and very as down to earth and informative as could be. Definitely recommend and will visit in the future if necessary!!β
βWhen I walk into Manfred, it's clear that Bruce knows what is going on. He has done it all a thousand times. And he is personally invested in the outcome. He wants to do it right the first time.
When I used to walk into the dealerships, I never got that feeling. It was HOPE for the best and pay 35% more.
I moved to Iowa this month. Will I return to Manfred and Bruce for service? Yes, I will.
Also, they work with you on scheduling. They know you. It's a family run business.β

βI broke down on Saturday. I had my car towed to Doug's Transmission Shop and called there on Monday. Doug was very knowledgeable and friendly. I gave him the green light to replace the Transmission and he had it done on Friday. Awesome! My 2020 Nissan Maxima runs like new. βCanβt say enough about your mechanics. I go to the south Elgin location on Randall Road and they kind and check even windshield wipers. Very thoughtful and thorough. This is my 3rd time for grease monkey.β
βDaniel is a dedicated mechanic, he will give good advice and will repair quickly, relatively cheaply compared to other workshops. He has already repaired 2 of my cars and I am satisfied. I recommend Daniel to everyone, he is always nice and smiling, you can trust him with your cars. He does not charge for replacing parts that are good, as other workshops do. I paid about $450 for replacing 2 tires and shock absorbers, and another workshop told me $1,200 because they proposed replacing several other parts.β

βI went to their open house 10/18/25, and everyone treated me like they already knew me. All of the employees are passionate about their work, and they even mounted my tires, welded my exhaust, and shined my tires for free. If you have a saab or a volvo, take it here. βCalled at 6:30pm to see if they could take care of my tire with a leak and puncture. I was in and out in 10 minutes for a great price. The mechanic immediately dropped his other work and took care of my car. Really neat to see an old school garage that wasnβt corporatized and just run by some people who get it.β
