Been a long time member of LA in the past. Came to this location ready to pursue a membership and had a guest pass. The little girl with glasses at the counter was extremely off putting and blatantly ignored me for a good five minutes. She then told me to scan my pass on the other counter after I scanned my guest pass. She then stared at it for a few minutes and told me I would have to have a seat first and wait for someone in sales. She told me it would be at least a ten minute wait. No thanks joining a different gym, never had to wait ten minutes and I've been to LA fitness and esporta locations much busier than this location in other states.

I don't understand why this is a signature club. Making me pay an extra 10 dollars a month to come to a broken sauna and steam room, dirty showers and dirty jacuzzi a lot of the days. Pool is always full of old people not doing anything. Seriously disappointed in this "Premium" club. Make people pay extra, then keep the facility maintained. Oakbrook and Lombard are better and they aren't charging you an extra 10 dollars a month to go to them.

Started personal training with Edgar and he’s awesome. It’s hard for me to stay motivated and maintain a gym routine, but one thing he’s great at is trying to find what not only works well but also how to make things fun. I started boxing with him in training and it’s a lot of fun, and it makes it easier for me to stick with it. Overall he’s a very cool dude who is passionate about his job and it shows!

Edgar B. is a very professional trainer. He is very knowledgeable about health, fitness, and nutrition. Ed is genuinely concerned about his clients’ health and partners with them to make progress. I enjoyed my sessions with Ed because he tailored them to my fitness level and personality.

I’ve been working with Edgar as my personal trainer. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable he is. He’s personable and patient. He goes over and beyond. When I don’t think I can, Edgar will say, yes, you can do it. And with that confidence, I’m able to push myself through my limits. As an added bonus he’s been helping me with my dietary needs for a healthier lifestyle. If you’re looking for an amazing trainer I would highly recommend Edgar.5 stars for me!

My husband and I joined LA Fitness in March. We both decided to give personal training a try for a month. I specifically needed to see if my twice-operated shoulder could withstand strength training and began training with Edgar. Edgar was very respectful of my preexisting injury and really focused on pain free yet effective exercises for the upper body, but pushed me through core and lower body workouts. I was planning on working out on my own after the month was up but it turns out we got sucked into a one-year contract, which I disputed and managed to cut down to six months. I will write a separate review on the personal training sign up process, which will not be at all favorable. But this is about personal training and it turned out to be exceptionally beneficial for me. Edgar introduced me to HIIT and I love it! He pushes me and motivates me to go beyond my self-perceived limits aerobically (I’m jumping rope at 69! ), yet is always mindful of my shoulder injury. Edgar is very knowledgeable, supportive and motivating. If personal training is on your radar Edgar would be a great choice!

I have been working out at LA Fitness Westmont for around a month. I decided to use a personal trainer to focus on strength training because I have a lower back injury. (I get re-injured easily.) I have been training with Edgar B. and he has been awesome. He assessed my starting condition (terrible) and curates work outs that challenge me but do not hurt me. He is super careful to make sure that all exercises are effective but do not put unnecessary strain on my lower back. He brings a positive energy and drives you to work hard without being a drill sergeant. Totally recommend Edgar! As others have mentioned, I’m having contract issues with the club but I’m more willing to work through them due to the quality of Edgar’s training.

I do not recommend signing up for personal training sessions with Jonathan. I set up a meeting to discuss my gym workout, but there were several issues/red flags.- He was about 25 minutes late to our scheduled meeting.- When he finally approached me, he did not have a friendly demeanor and did not apologize.- Contradicting the expectations of a personal trainer’s role, he said his job “wasn’t to instruct me on how to use the gym equipment.” This didn’t make sense.- When asked about his credentials, he said he didn’t need to “prove that” to me. He kept ambiguously referring to himself as a “physician” and “physical therapist”.These were just a few of the issues. The meeting was toxic. He was defensive, manipulative, and dishonest. I also feel that I was treated differently because I was a woman. I don’t think my husband would have had the same interaction. I had to end the meeting, which I think was for the better. Having been a loyal member for several years, I'm now considering switching gyms.

Each staff member I’ve met at this gym is positive and not in an over the top kind of way. Edgar is amazing for personal training, he is both warm and serious. He is extremely knowledgeable and makes you sweat in a half hour. He always gives a bit extra and focuses on the why. It is about being able to sustain a healthy lifestyle for the long term. Each time we meet he remembers my why, and that makes all the difference.

Great equipment and facility but we're now going on ONE MONTH of the steam room not working in the men's area. No one has an answer as to when it will be fixed. I expect better from a signature club that people pay a premium for. Things malfunction and I'm understanding. However, ONE MONTH and not letting customers know when it will be fixed for a key feature that's at this club and not others... Come on we have to do better.Update: June 26, 2023Was working for a few days. Now back to not working. This is a signature club keep that in mind. Front desk has no answer about what will be done to fix this besides a general "we're looking into it".

Steam room in men's locker room is always broke. When asked when it'll get fixed from the staff, they say by the end of the week. Well, the next week comes and they tell me the same thing as the previous week and the cycle continues. Terrible management with terrible sales team who oversells training packages that has been lied to my wife's face about how many sessions she has. Worst gym experience I've had over last 20 years. I've managed multiple gyms when I was younger and this has to be the worst management I've ever seen. Place is a dump and dirty. Cancelling membership and would rather drive an extra 10-20 minutes in the morning to get a better experience. Don't waste your time or money here!

I went online and saw that LA Fitness had a deal where you could try out their club for 3 days. The email confirmation didn’t come right away so I called. They were extremely short on the phone and didn’t seem like they cared if they got a new client. The email came and I filled out my info and printed the certificate. I got ready for the gym and drove 15 minutes to go check them out. When I got there, the girl at the front said I would have to fill out a waiver. She asked me to have a seat which I thought was odd. A different person then came out and requested I come to his desk toward the back. I assumed this was going to be a trainer trying to sell me on getting training sessions. Instead he said that the certificate was only good during certain hours and by appointment. He said I wouldn’t be able to work out now but I could come back in 3 hours or a different day. Honestly the level of customer service or care to try to discuss the club and what they had to offer was so subpar. I told the gentleman to forget it and I am now headed toward XSport where I plan to stay.

They closed another gym nearby and now this one is crowded!! You have to wait a lot for each machine! There should be a max limit of members they accept. They keep saying this is a signature gym and we pay extra for it but honestly what is happening with the crowds!? The lockers are dirty too!

Gym is not clean. Often there is not hand sanitizer. There are dust bunnies eveywhere, which tells me it's not adequately cleaned regularly. There are kids in group that are well under 15 years old working out. Many that stand around and talk. The other week a teenager was vaping in the free weight area.We have been promised towel service since before the pandemic and still...no towels.

They started as a great place when they first opened but then reality came out. Broken equipment, facility and horrible management. Their own staff complains about how horrible they are.
