I'm not sure what's with all of the recent 1 star reviews. I adopted 2 cats from here. One sadly passed away and the other she's still alive and healthy. I was very new when I adopted my first cat but the screening/background check process didn't take too long. Before you knew it, I was able to take my cat home. The agency was very helpful with any questions I had as a new owner at the time. By the time, I adopted my second cat from there, the process seemed quicker since they had all of my information on file. I would definitely adopt from them again.

St Sophia's cares about every cat and makes the adoption process easy. The people there are great too! I adopted my cat rocky through st Sophia's and the process was smooth. They really care about the cats and want them to go to safe and loving homes. I'll always support St Sophias ForgottenFelines!!

Stopped by in the evening during a Christmas event they were hosting, and bought some cookies for their fundraising and donated the change. I can't currently adopt or foster, but I was given the opportunity to see the cats up close and give them some company. The organization truly cares about the animals in their care, and the cats are all very well off and in good spirits. The staff was very friendly. Remember to adopt, not shop, everyone! If you plan on volunteering or fostering, this is a good place to do it.

Diarrhea then projectile Vomiting. After 5 trips to the Vet, blood tests ,Ultrasound etc and over $1000 so far He is Stable for now. He is only 2 Years old. Poor sweet guy.He finally has a diagnose of IBS., Low levels of calcium and protien. He will need weekly injections of Vitamin B, Probiatic, and Prescription food. I am doing everything I can for him. I was also told by the Vet that he Had this Conditon before I adopted him.

We adopted our cat Nacho almost a year ago from St Sophia's. Nadia, her foster mom, responded to my inquiry almost immediately and took the time to tell me all about Nacho to make sure she was helping me AND Nacho find a good match. Nadia was so kind and thoughtful and clearly loved animals so much--I was so appreciative for all her help throughout the process!Nacho has been such an incredible addition to our family, she brightens every day for us. Nadia really helped us find the perfect cat. Nacho is definitely the queen of the household.

Having lost my long loved kitty to kidney disease, I did a search for a new kitty to love and take care of...I found one that I bonded with the first time I held him.. I probably adopted too quickly. It seemed like a perfect match for me. When I got him home I noticed he had low energy, and proceeded to get sicker and sicker. I used the free voucher they gave me for getting the kitty checked out at a vet. The called it a cold and suggested antibiotics "if I wanted them." I replied, "what good are antibiotics cold?" He smiles and just said, your choice. I said, no thank you. I knew antibiotic did not work on a cold. But the next day I suspected it was something much worse and did not want to wait until Monday. So we went to an emergency vet and got the antibiotics at a premium price. Then the next day we went to my personal vet and found that she thought this cat was more ill than that. And suggested I not keep him at all. I was broken. I needed blood work to confirm this. But after shelling out $500 I asked St. Sophia's to please conduct the blood work for my new kitty. They refused unless I gave him up. Naturally, I followed through hoping the blood work woudl show that I could keep him. And I could readopt him. But St Sophia's don't bother to check in with you. They went about their business and adopted him out to another party with out ever discussing this with me. I was broken hearted when I finally found out. I feel this place is trying hard to work to save cats but I can't say I liked working with them. And I can't say they have a clean organized facility, which I think led to this kitty's illness perhaps. Hard to say. I just wish they were not so cold hearted towards cat lovers like me, who was planning on help them in the long run. Now I am not intetested. Adopt from this group with great care. They do have beautiful kitties that need good homes, they just are not "owner" friendly. I wish them luck. They did not apologize for the misundertanding. Nor would they return any fees.

I live in Wisconsin and found a 2 week old stray kitten. At 7:30pm all rescues were pretty much closed near me. I found this place that’s opened 24 hours. I talked to Bonnie on the phone. She was so sweet to me and my husband, had tips we never thought about and wasn’t judging us for not knowing what to do.Bonnie said you can text their number too with questions. Thank you so much for helping us, we are so grateful ♥️♥️

I came here from a referral from Petco, since they nolonger have cats to adopt, due to the adoption agency or contract issues. I can see why. My cat Nora passed away awhile ago, and I was looking for another cat. So I came here. I filled out the adoption information and they texted me back with bad news. They said due to the fact you don't have a record of taking your cat to the doctor and the doctor you gave use they said you only took your cat to the doctor twice. They then said they cannot adopt to me for that reason. I'm not sure of what adoption agency is going around checking medical history for a cat. When there are plenty of animals and there for neglect, physical abuse, and so much worse things. My cat was love and was taking well good care of. She was a house cat and was never sick. When she did get sick I took her to the doctor even to the emergency room. To get a second opinion. I grow up with cats and they was also house cat and they never went to the doctor, and they turned out just fine. I would not say good luck to me finding a cat; because I would. There are plenty of adoption agents out there. Also I would like to add they knew about the death of my cat and I wanted to adopt a cat that looked like her. And they denied me knowing this information and without care. I would say good luck to St. Sophia trying to get people to adopt animals from them. I guess if you anit white you ain't right. So sad.

In May I adopted my cat, Kevin, from St. Sophia’s. The staff and fosters were great and Kevin is the most perfect little orange boy.I do have one thing I think is important to mention. When I adopted him he had a “kitty cold” that St. Sophia’s staff told me would go away within a couple weeks and that it was a super common thing (they were correct and he’s in good health). However, when I took him to one of the vets from their voucher program, they said that he may need X-rays, bloodwork, a biopsy, etc. Ultimately his kitty cold went away, as St. Sophia’s had said, but the conflicting information really caused a a lot of stress.

I adopted the most marvelous grey and white kitty from this group almost 2 years ago (April 25th is my cats adoption birthday). He was my Covid partner, an older stray who is such a curmudgeon, but he’s also such an adorable old sissy when he gets his belly cuddles. Thanks to this marvelous group and their volunteers for helping these animals find homes. I am so happy to be a part of what they’ve done. Please support them with donations or by adopting cats rather than buying from a breeder.

We did adopt a cat which is great! But the place itself was not what we were expecting at all. Parking was difficult and when you walk in, it’s a bit chaotic. There is such a small window for walk in adoptions that people are standing nearly on top of one another, plus there’s stuff everywhere. When we visited, only one woman was doing all the paperwork. She was kind and knowledgeable but it seemed inefficient to only have one staff member trying to do all the adoptions which when we busted there were roughly six people adopting or looking to adopt. More staff and larger window might help with that sort of congestion. Otherwise happy with our adoption!
