Not particularly friendly place ever. Had one pleasant visit about two months ago. Jared was pleasant. Three out of last four times i I donate it is a cold environment- was not even asked to schedule another donation.this time. Other donation centers (Vitalant) are a little better. Maybe it’s just a depressing business.

Careless and unfriendly staffs. I started whole blood donation a year ago mostly on the bus. I started to go to this Westmont location twice. Both times were very uncomfortable experiences at this location, very unfriendly staffs. This time I took my boyfriend with me and he was super excited for his first time here. We came in the front door no one was there to help out, we heard a voice ( without greetings) instructed us from far back of the big room which we couldn’t understand what she wanted us to do so we guessed put our scan code copies on the table. She started to ‘0rder’ both of us wash hands, show the ID, checking information with super cold tone and attitude , it took long time for both of us to check in and we were standing the whole time. We came to try to help other with our blood donation but we felt so unwelcomed and super uncomfortable. Both the check in lady and the technician in the blood test room had masks on and pulled under their noses while we were there which were very careless for medical staffs and I was in the tiny room seated close to the technician. The technicians were better to compare with the check in lady. We don’t want to go there to experience uncomfortables. We will never be back. Sorry but you are not professional enough to serve your community well. You lost 2 repeating donors at the same time.

I seldom write reviews, but I'm hoping this will serve as constructive criticism for an organization that, I am sure, is trying to serve the public and the medical community. I went to the Versiti blood center in Westmont today, intending to donate for the first time in a number of years. As soon as I walked in the door, one of the employees told me there would be a wait. This surprised me, because I keep hearing on the news that there's a desperate shortage of blood right now. But I wasn't in a hurry. I was told to start by washing my hands, which I did. Then I went over to the check-in desk -- but after standing there for a while without anyone coming over to get me checked in, I sat down until someone did. I handed her my driver's license, which she entered -- and then she told me I had to fill out a questionnaire on their website. This is where the problems began. I couldn't get into their WiFi through my phone, so she said they would set me up with a tablet. I got through the first 3 questions, and then it told me to answer a long list of medications. I couldn't READ the list because the print was small and my glasses kept fogging up (it happens when I need to wear a mask indoors, which everyone was still doing at the blood center). I took my glasses off but couldn't see at all. I tried to make the print bigger by spreading my fingers on the screen, but then I was removed from the medication list page completely. I tried clicking the Help button, but that did basically nothing in the way of actual help. Finally, I said I couldn't get into the list and I was going to leave and try again some other time. One of the employees said they were sorry, but no one actually came over and tried to help me. Here's the thing: It shouldn't be HARD to donate blood. That includes would-be donors my age (over 70) who have trouble reading small print on someone else's tablet. Why don't you just automatically offer donors the option of filling out a printed-out list, instead of requiring everyone to use that website? If you really are desperate for blood donations, you need to make it easy to do. Otherwise people will be so turned off by the process that they won't take the time to come back and give.

I wish they would invest in technology. Putting a thermometer under your mask is ridiculous when everywhere else has infrared. Also, why can’t their system keep your travel history & other information & just ask for updates since your last visit? Silly to repeat the same info every few weeks, especially with hard to spell prescriptions, etc.

I've donated platelets at this blood center several dozen times and have nothing but good to say about them. This place is very clean, the employees are very friendly and they're good at their jobs. I stuff myself full of the blood center's Famous Amos chocolate chips after each donation and over the years have eaten more than my body weight in after donation cookies...yum.

felt mistreated here! I have made an appointment since they called for emergency help. I stopped by at1:30pm with appointment. When I arrived, noone greeted me I was simply stood there for a bit till this african american who wearing glasses apporched me with I needed to see your ID. With her unfriendly personality which really made me felt uncomfortable, she replied after she took my ID with tones ," what's your address, is this current? I replied yes. She stared at me and made face. My purposed was to help other but this lady did not do her great job and she did not even deserve to have this job. cheering, giving with no discrimination and or racism. I simply just took my ID and walked out, she just smile and laugh.

Professional staff, clean office, fast appointments to donate blood. I once became woozy when donating, and the staff jumped into action with recovery procedures, and I was better in a minute! Good people!
