About DuPage County Historical Museum & Wheaton Park District Administration Building
The DuPage County Historical Museum & Wheaton Park District Administration Building, formerly known as the Adams Memorial Library, is a historic building designed in the Richardsonion Romanesque style. Opened in 1967, the museum serves as the only institution dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the material culture of DuPage County, Illinois.
The museum's collections represent artifacts gathered by the DuPage County Historical Society since 1929, as well as those collected by the museum since its founding in 1965. Visitors can enjoy a large model railway set up in the basement, which is operational on select dates. While the museum's exhibits may not delve into the history in great depth, it offers an interesting glimpse into the county's past. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5.
