The counselors I talked with regarding my adult son have been compassionate, understanding, knowledgeable and supportive staff. I wish I could name the two beautiful ladies that helped me through my tears and pain/ while navigating help for my son. Thank you for your kindness.

I was here September 2025 taking part of the respite program. While the respite explains the program relies on the individual it is not a place to go for your mental health as of current day. I asked why groups were 15 minute YouTube videos the first couple days the answer was ‘each counselor running the group has control how they run their groups’. I was told there would be hour long group sessions 4-5xs a day, we don’t get our 1 hour group until roughly 5 days into my stay. The psychiatrist’s schedules are too booked from what I was told so I was here half a week no med adjustment no groups unfortunately just being on my phone, watching tv, or laying in my room all day from the lack of structure. If you are coming here to get help finding housing that’s the main time these people will care and step up to help those individual. If you’re in a mental health crisis you are bettter off in an inpatient setting than wasting time hoping this program will benefit you.
If one psychiatrist makes a call on your meds that you don’t agree with, they make a note in your file so that all the other psychics & NP’s will also not follow through with the patients request. If they offer for you to see the NEW doctor, DR. MO I would advise you ask for another psych or wait for NP Ellen. Dr. Mo does not see the individual aspects of patients & completely disregarded my neuro psychological exam, he wouldn’t even read it before making his decision & prompting the other psychics team members not to prescribe me medication.

Before you go this this specific location, reconsider. I started in September and made friends here, was very open about my struggles, and for a while it was great.we got close outside of the facility. Until November, when the group of friends I made including a co host Natalie, all gaslit me and abandoned me wholly when I stood up for myself in text, and previous to that, put me down for singing expressive music while all were in my home ,like Linkin Park which I find cathartic. I felt exploited, abandoned, for showing my strength and authenticity in healing. I continued attending after the fallout, but I was gaslit there by said lady, when I indirectly brought up feeling lonely and wronged by friends I had made. In the end, though it's on the patient to open up and grow, it's also on the facility to maintain the atmosphere of safety and welcomeness in its walls. I was teased with what I thought was healing, and rug got pulled.i was never malicious or aggressive towards any of my friends. Btw, there is no rule about pizza per person, there's always surplus don't worry. It may be better having imaginary friends than settling for a toxic friend group here who will abandon you at your most vulnerable and after sharing all your issues publicly. And after having the female flirt with you, uninvited, off campus. I was more scarred leaving there after all of this, moreso than I was first entering in the place to seek therapy with depression lonliness anxiety autism and diabetes trauma. I didn't seek friendship, they offered it to me. Careful.

Shawn Listened to me. I'm new. Fast call back in a crisis where I felt beyond sad. I drove here to see what it looks like. I'm going to try this. It looks so nice. He treated me so kindly I needed it. Gave me tons of options. Coming in next week.

I attended a peer support group the week before last and it was so nice to be around other people who are in need of help, too. I was having a hard time finding a therapist and it was helpful to have interaction with others in the group. I had no prior knowledge of NAMI and they seem to be a wonderful, caring group of people.

I just had to leave work to pick up my partner because they were denied access to the Living Room due to SEASONAL ALLERGIES! They texted me that they were still in crisis but were turned away because they had a stuffy nose. This could have been a much worse review with legal action if I hadn’t gotten to them as fast as I did. Never recommending again. NAMI DuPage doesn't know what their volunteers call their own programs in center either. Every time the Living Room was mentioned in the NAMI location, it was referred to as the Respite Program.

Nami is a great help for any one that has a diagnosis or is having a crisis. They have a raspy place for the crisis so if someone is having a mental meltdown you can come here and you can stay here for few days until you get stable and medicated. They have tons of support Group family group or individual support groups. This place is a safe haven for anyone that needs support. Come here or spread the word that this is a good place for adults and young adults

I almost would give one star except that the people are truly nice however the organization as a whole is useless. Subpar therapist, classes are never open due to Covid and absolutely no help given to homeless which I am. No vouchers for hotels, shelters full absolutely no suggestion where I can lay my head except parking garage.

NAMI of DupageI did attend a support group session and it emphasised labeling during the identification process. NAMI does not have doctor's or practitioners but it does have people with mental health experiences .. I tried to get a session with a rep that I knew of from a GSH outpatient program and she was not available at all. At the Wheaton location there is a cafe stand and their prices are totally reasonable but I did have a bad encounter with one of their employees he was discriminating around "his employees" and he is not everyone's friend . Maybe by contributing purchasing anything from the cafe stand he has a different demeanorI appreciated the information on mental illnesses available at this location .
