Customer service is not good specially with returns,even their manager is not good at all and they create their own rules

Today I took back a candle that the wooden wick would not stay lit. Two cashiers said they would not take it back because it was burned. I asked to see a manager. I asked him he said no too. I stated "why would I want a candle that won't stay lit". He said it again. I questioned this policy, he asked why I was not being nice, then proceeded to say I did not deserve to buy any thing else from them. I said seriously, very snottie repeated what I said. Look I get it he's underpaid and feeling he has power to push customers around. Needless to say I won't be shopping at TJ Max anymore. TJ Maxx either pay your folks more or pick better managers. Seriously "I don't deserve to purchase" how many other patrons has he said this to, am I the first? A better question is sir WHO deserves to purchase items. Do you get to decide? I am a librarian, I would never tell a patron they can not check out books because they questioned a book fine. I am in the customer service industry. This was not customer service. Very bad management in my opinion.

I wish I could give this no stars, cause this is an absolute ridiculous situation I came across. I came in too check out some bags and seen they had juicy bags gift sets and I decided to purchase the last ones because I was looking for a good time at the bags. Everything was good til I went to complete my transaction. I wished I looked at her name tag and asked for her name cause this is ridiculous. When I left and checked the bags in my car, I saw that one of the alarms was still there. I asked my dad if he could go in and ask if they could take it off. They sent back to my car for the receipt. I gave him the receipt and went with him since I was there literally not even a minute ago. This white lady who needs to better her memory and not wear makeup that makes her look like a zombie, proceed to say that she did in fact took off the alarms, I had to have a whole ass argument that the alarm is still on there and she IN FACT did not take them off if im clearly returning with the item I purchased a minute ago….she made a whole fuss and made me go back to my car for the THIRD TIME for the other gift set I purchased to PROVE to her privilege underpaid ass that I DID NOT STEAL THE PRODUCT.
Better your staff in not making PAYING CUSTOMERS feel like a thief when you can check the cameras and look in your stupid inventory that it was the last one on the shelf.
Discrimination at its finest.

This used to be my favorite tjmaxx until last night and today. First off there’s black marks all over the floor by the beauty that smells like horse poop. I’ve been trying to buy a necklace for the last two days. Yesterday the lady was helping someone who was “just looking” for 20 minutes. I wanted to buy something. Today no one was working the jewelry counter. Then I buy a glass cup and they didn’t even wrap it I guess because I said no to signing up for a credit card. What happened to all of the friendly employees that worked here?!?!?! It looks like they all got fired. Well, I’m firing myself as a customer

My daughter lost her toy fluffy dog in this store, when we went next day, the cashier said they found it, but did not know if it was store’s or smn lost it, and put it somewhere, and the person who found it was not on work, so they told me they will give me a call. Next day i called to find out if they have news, and I was told by a manager to JUST a purchase another dog and kids are adjustable! If that was a case i would not torture myself and my kid for last two days! She used to sleep with it since she was a baby!

The dressing room staff is contradicting.
I am waiting in line for the dressing room. The woman in front of me had 5 items that she hung on the rack while the dressing room staff simply scanned through her items. When I came up and hung up my 3 shorts, she THOROUGHLY searched each of my items. I mean, took it off the hanger and inspected inside, in the pockets, and around the item like there was a hidden gem! I thought it was strange at first. But then I come to try on an outfit WITH one of those shorts and got the EXACT same treatment.
Again, the lady on front of me got an eye ball scan with two dresses and a couple of shirts (totalling 4 items). I hung up a 3 piece undershirt, an over shirt, and one of those pairs of shorts I tried on earlier. Again, they thoroughly checked my items. This time, she picked the over shirt off the rack and patted down my items. I'm not exaggerating- feel free to look up the camera info (6/28/2024 @7:59pm, Wheaton, IL- women's fitting room).
She then told me, that since there is no tjmaxx tag on this item, that I cannot try it on and she would have to get someone else to make a tag for this item. I told her, I picked this out to attempt to make an outfit. It passed over her head and she proceeded to hand me a "2". She claims the 3 piece set is counted as one.
Im beginning to believe that they are targeting me due to my ethnicity. I do not feel comfortable being here or being discriminated against due to my looks and their intrusive thoughts.

I went in to buy a couple of candles for my apartment. Iyanna (sp?), was the cashier. She went above and beyond for me. I've never been treated so kind and I walked away smiling. She will be managing her own store someday, I just know it.

Today, 4/30/24 the store was under construction with new inventory. And building of new racks for merchandise.
However this plan had some flaws by management. Some of the isles were blocked with merchandise, carts full of boxes, racks of merchandise. Myself and others customers were getting frustrated with the blockades. The employees that were hired, were oblivious to customers walking down the few isles that were open, walking in front of us, customers with carts on wheels, cutting us off or forcing us to stop. Come on! Have some manners. . This behavior was the icing on the cake . I just wanted out of this store.
I have shopped here for 20 years. This is the worst organization of a plan that I have witnessed.
Someone needs to make sure everything is running smoothly in an organized matter, ensuring that we as customers can maneuver safely . Someone step up.
