The block a payment when I was in Canada, and when I called to confirm that it was not fraudulent they told me they could not approve it, they locked the account and told me that I would need to come to the bank in-person in order to resolve the issue, which is obviously impossible to do if you're in a foreign country without access to your bank account.Don't bank with them.

I've been here for years but over the past few, it seems like the general CS attitude of the tellers/reps here have gone down the tubes. I am referring to the mature, seasoned employees. However, I must say that the exception, based on MY experiences, is the Bank Manager - I cant remember her name but she's very sweet and helpful and has been this way since I first met her like 10-15 years ago. Now, some of the others... well, lets say they might need to work on their skills. I feel that I am pretty easy going but I was a bit ruffled recently when I came in to deposit cash, which I had separated into denominations of $100, using THE DREADED ENEMY OF BANKS - staples. Whell, you'd have thought I handed them a bucket of origami folded bills to organize... After I handed it over, 3, maybe 4 of them had gotten involved, by either effort and/or sneer to remove the staples that I had used to bundle the cash. A few minutes in, one (older) lady turns from the group and reprimands me with a degrading tone to "NEVER DO THIS AGAIN!" Seriously, turned and looked directly at me and actually said this! I apologized only because they (she) felt so overwhelmed. I actually replied, "you know, I can do it, just bring the money back to me". Which they ignored. I guess, staple removers are an extremely hard find because for the first several minutes, they were prying them out with their fingernails (a nail file, scissors and knife - any of it would have worked) but finally, someone comes over with one. Friends, there were maybe 20-30 and I know, the counting machines can't handle this, which is why I normally have them removed before making a deposit. This was rare for me to not think ahead but this is not about the staples. Its about the attitude :/ I also, just want to comment about my request to have an expired debit card handed back to me. It seemed to cause a bit of aggravation. I thank you for your offer to use the bank's "shredder" but I really can do it. I felt like the teller was reluctant to hand it back at my request because she kept saying, now you need to destroy it - it cant be used. Guys, I'm literally a Grandmother - this isn't my 1st debit card. What were you suspecting I was going to do with it? I mean, you and I know that it is a cancelled card... Here's my perspective because I feel like sometimes you need to understand WHY from the OTHER persons viewpoint: I know the banks have shredding machines but I've never seen them and I really can't speak for their proficiency, but regardless, it's not at your desk right now and I don't like my signature floating around until it makes it into the jaws of this "machine". So, call me old fashioned, but unless I am present for the shedding party, I will shred them myself. I feel it's been years of build up, as it was similar when I opened some new accounts a few years back, and when I closed others, when I've made in-person trans and also on the rare occasion that I needed to call the branch. I don't have any real in-depth banking experience with this particular bank that I could review - just basic checking, but I'm not sure I'll venture into these opportunities because it seems like customer respect isn't really a goal for this location. Thanks for letting me vent.

They’re sending out fraudulent sweepstakes checks. Do not deposit or cash a check for $2675.50. It’s asking you to send $2000 back because it is a scam!!!! You did not win $250,000, it is a scam and customer service will tell you it’s real. Do not trust them

Staff at this bank is absolute trash. No one knows the same back policies. Every time you call, you get a different story. Opened a business account with them at the wheaton location. They only gave me half the information I needed to move forward after opening the account. The information they did give me was half wrong. I had to call back 5 times just to get access to the online banking app. NO ONE KNEW WHICH APP I HAD TO DOWNLOAD. AND AFTER THAT, NO ONE KNEW WHAT TO DO! I HAD TO CALL HINSDALE! The Direct line to my relationship banker at wheaton was an invalid number. The wait times for services were all skewed and inaccurate. I was told 3-5 days for the account to go active. I'm at 7 days now with no action. And when I called to make an inquiry, the bank manager told me it was suspicious that I was calling with concerns about where my money was. That it had tones of bad business. Your a bank. Your job is to tell me where and when my money is going to be. Everything about their customer service was just wrong. I called the Hinsdale location and VOILA! REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Apparently there are 3 options for the kinds of business banking accounts I can open. They didn't ask me that at Wheaton before I opened my account. Wheaton is an ABSOLUTE DISASTER for Business Banking. Don't go to this bank if you want accurate information. Go to Hinsdale.

So beyond frustrated. I’ve been trying to get a replacement debit card for over a month. The first time I call into the branch closest to me (Logan square). They say they’ll order me one, but I can also come in to have one printed. I wait about a week and a half/two weeks. No card. I go to the branch and they say actually we can’t issue or request a new card for you because you didn’t open your account here. Fine. They call into my home branch, Wheaton, and send an email while I’m there.I wait another week and a half. No card. I call into Wheaton. They say a request was never put in. I explain the situation and they transfer me to someone’s voicemail. I leave a message, no call back.I call in again today . I tried to explain to the woman I spoke with who only cut me off and said the card needed to be cancelled. I said I can’t have it cancelled until it’s replaced as this is my only one (I’ve been turning it on/off via app to still be able to use Apple Pay and cardless cash). she puts me on hold, comes back and says it’s been cancelled even though I did not ask for that, and said “your new card will arrive within 10 business days, let us knowif not”. IF NOT? How is that even an option after all of this? Seriously cannot believe that I’d have to drive an hour away just to get a replacement card in a timely manner. Cannot believe I spent this many phone calls and a physical visit to get this much bad information, and now I don’t have access to that account unless I can go into a bank. Shocker- I work 9-5 too! So so so so inconvenient and ridiculous. I’d close this account altogether now but I don’t have multiple hours to commute to do it.

I've had bank accounts at several banks in the area but I have to say that Wheaton Bank and Trust has been the most helpful. Recently we moved and I wanted to update my address. The local bank changed its records and then referred me to their tech department. The tech department changed my profile which allowed all of my bill payment payees to be notified of my address change made my life much easier. Thanks WBT! Jane H

With Them moving to Wintrust I decided to start here, leave Chase for this account, got Exceptional service as a chiropractic physician with many banking needs and appreciated the availability and personal touch of all involved. They all were so nice and gave me great recommendations Chase would never do. They all tag teamed to accomplish a whole host of changes I needed to make it quick. When I came back and had in personal preferences they readily did it. I bank at Chase for business and personal and decided to open an account for SBA and PPP and got a much better personal touch and they are always available. Mad opened portals for SBA sooner than chase. Dora and company gave much better customer service. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

They used to be a good bank, but lately the customer service has been obnoxious. Last time I called (regarding online banking), they were so condescending and made me not want to do business there anymore.Sometimes they are really nice though. I think it depends on who you are talking to...

I have been using Wheaton Bank exclusively for many years with a business and personal account. In the past I have been with numerous banks typically for two or three years before they frustrate me to the point I change. The fact I have been with Wheaton Bank for 12 years should speak for itself.

I have been with this bank since 2011 and have been extremely satisfied with them. Even when the branch I started with closed after merging with Community Bank, the employees at the other branches have been friendly and helpful. I understand the frustration of not having later hours but they watch for things that may be out of the ordinary, no fees for using other ATMs, and since so much can be done online, it's worth it.
