I wish I could give zero stars. Brought my dog in for his usual nail trim and they gave him a vaccine!! Worst part, they said the manager would follow up with me, and that was mid January and here it is February 6th. RUN from this place.

do not bring your pets to this hospital. i broght my dog in for her 1 year rabies vaccination they did not have a rabies tag to give me and said i would get it in the mail within 6 weeks and it never came then when i called them they claimed i was never there nor did i get the shots and did not even have an appointment.so all record of that shot and the appointment were missing. this place does not care about you or your pet so beware of this hospital. go to buffalo grove animal hospital instead

Run away from here. These people show you a pet for adoption then after you have been there for an hour and say you want the pet they say oh there are other people interested. Nothing but bait and switch lying staff. And sure enough I got the response we have decided to go with someone else but we have many other pets for you to choose from. SCAM SCAM SCAM. I did not buy anything from here.

Wheeling Animal has taken excellent care of our fog for the past 13 years. Incredible doctors that diagnosed and treated her tumor early on 2 years ago and she’s still going strong. The day care and pet resort staff have been caring and attentive to her. We appreciate all that you do.

Run away! I adopted two cats from Kay’s Animal Shelter and was given a certificate for a “free” spay at Wheeling Animal Hospital.
Prior to my appointment I gave staff at WAH all paperwork which they copied and returned to me. Upon arrival for the procedure, I was told they didn’t have the appropriate paperwork and asked me for it. I explained I was not told to bring it with as I had already provided it.
Then, once back in the exam room I was told my cat had to get $225 worth of deworm, flea prevention, a rabies shot (the rabies was at $40 so no issue there) however, my cat was up to date with all other “mandatory” items before she could be spayed. At no time, prior to my appointment, did anyone mention I would incur $225 worth of charges - $20 of which was for an Elizabethan Collar - how egregious and a rip off!
I spoke with staff and spoke with Dr. Robert’s who was extremely dismissive when I attempted to communicate how unorganized and awful my experience was TODAY- in addition to my first visit.
My first visit was equally terrible. I brought my other cat in for an eye infection, waited 45 past my appointment time, and was told I’d be waiting another 45 minutes. I ended up leaving without the cat being seen as I simply had no more time to wait.
I reported this to Kay’s Shelter and she was pleasant however I’m still left with paying out of pocket for a procedure that was “included” in my adoption fee. Not to mention the time off work and the unprofessional staff and Dr. Roberts.

My puppy ate something she shouldn't have and they were so good in getting her in quickly and did such a good job taking care of her. All my dogs for over twenty years. Dr Roberts is the best.

The staff at Wheeling Animal Hospital is kind, empathetic, and truly love working with animals. My husband and I took our two cats here for years, and it was always a pleasure to see them greet our cats and love on them. Dr. Roberts was always so kind and gentle with them and willing to answer any question we had, especially as our kitties were getting older and experiencing decline, giving us options for what we could do to help them experience better mobility and ensure they were getting enough fluids.
Ultimately, we had to put our kitties down, one shortly after the other, and the staff was there to walk us through each difficult decision and the options for memorializing them. They walked us through the process and let us know we could take all the time we needed with our cats before saying goodbye. Each time was painful and difficult, but they really did their best to ensure it was as peaceful as possible for them and for us. What I also did not expect was a card arriving shortly after each kitty passed, each signed by the staff and offering condolences. It just shows the thoughtfulness from hospital in taking care of its patients and their owners, and for me, it was much appreciated.
Would recommend Wheeling Animal Hospital to any pet owner and perhaps we will be back one day with our new fur babies. Thank you all so much for your kindness throughout the difficult times and for being a part of the team that kept our cats as happy and healthy as possible while we had them.

Terrible customer service from female vet and assistant. There’s no “bed side manner” and it’s just going through the motions. Very rude and condescending. This place usually has a long wait, they seem to have issues keeping medications in stock and we end up making an additional trip to go back for them. The location on Golf was much better managed in my opinion and had a friendlier staff. Being a customer for multiple years is the only reason we accepted the transfer when the Golf location down. Unfortunately we won’t be back or continue to recommend them to anyone.

I have been going to the Wheeling Animal Hospital for 10+ years. I have been taking my dog to the Pet Resort for day camp and boarding over the last 5 months and will continue. Dr. Roberts is a fabulous veterinarian whom I totally trust 100%. If I had a problem they got me in fast and took care of my dog asap. Dr. Roberts has called me in the evening his follow through is impeccable. The staff at the hospital and pet resort are very kind and caring individuals. I took my dog to 4 different dog camps and choose the Wheeling Animal Pet Resort because they really care how they group the dogs, and that your dog is going to be placed in the right group. The facility is clean, and the floors are padded for tender paws. I boarded my dog this March, she was well taken care of from the accommodations of a medium villa, day camp, trail hikes, pedicure and bath. You can't go wrong with boarding and a dog camp where the veterinarian is on site. Love this place and love the staff!
