“Was here for a wedding. The place is huge. Could use a revamp because it's old and noticeable. The woman's restroom is up the stairs and they are kind of steep. It's big and had 3 stalls. The men's is on the main floor. Of you need a big plane for 200+ people then this is it but don't expect an updated look. Parking isn't that great either.”

“Lake Katherine is amazing. My wife and I take our son for walks over there. You can walk around and view nature. They have a monarch butterfly exhibit that's open in the spring/summer that kids will absolutely love. You can go canoeing in the lake and watch the swans which would be a perfect date with that special someone if you're into that kind of things also with amazing views of wildlife, wild plants, a community garden hidden away in the back that people plant and grow veggies and plants for the local pantry. They have a small book library you can borrow from but please take one, give one if you can. Lake Katherine has a great experience and I'm sure anyone would love it..”

“Sawmill Sports Hub is basically the Disney World of suburban sports—minus the mouse ears and plus the smell of gym floor cleaner. It’s a big, shiny, newer facility with a full-sized soccer field, multiple volleyball courts, and basketball courts so nice you’ll be tempted to lace up and relive your “glory days” (before remembering your knees are not what they used to be).
There’s plenty of seating for all the helicopter parents, so you can hover over your kid’s every move in comfort. Bonus points for the prime people-watching—nothing like seeing a dad go full NBA coach over an 8-year-old’s rec league game.
And when the inevitable “I’m huuungry” hits—whether it’s your kid or you—the concession stand is right there to save the day. They’ve got snacks for post-game celebrations, mid-game bribery, or just stress-eating through overtime.
Overall, it’s clean, spacious, and well-run. Whether you’re here for soccer, volleyball, basketball, or just to perfect your sideline commentary, Sawmill delivers.

“I haven't visited this park in over five years. We hiked for two hours. My friend Andrea led the hike. It was very peaceful and clean. They even have a black- owned smoothie bar at the entrance of the stairs. I will definitely visit again.”

“I attended a special event at the Mansion with Geoffrey Baer for WTTW. The place is very cool. Some of the rooms have been restored to their original furnishings and some are bare. The library, chapel, and hidden staircase are highlights of the mansion. The weather was not good for outdoor activities on the day of my visit, but the grounds are nice and would make a great place for a walk on a nice day.”
“Family came together for my grandson’s pre birthday celebration gathering & he had a wonderful time, as for me I was chilling like a granny should. Food was exceptional and service, establishment parking lot, entry way, restaurant area, gaming area & restroom very clean. “Sokol is so cool. I was a member of Sokol Tabor when I was a kid. My mother in law has always been in Sokol her whole life. My kids will be entering tumbling tots come registration period. It's a family fitness gym, activities include: competetive volleyball, gymnastics, calisthenics, dance and more. I camped at Sokol camp as a youth in upstate New York. You make life long friends, memories and connections through this amazing orginization. Czech it out ;)”

“I had my daughter's quince at Bella Luna and I am so happy I did. I was warmly welcomed by Alma when I first stopped by. She was so helpful with how the planning would go. Martha was so kind and helpful along the way. The day of the quince, the team I had went above and beyond. They were professional and the bartender knows how to make drinks! I seriously have nothing to complain about and I am a perfectionist. They captured everything and my vision came to reality. I highly recommend them for your next event and to my surprise none of my guest had a difficult time finding parking. The BEST team ever!!”

So many parents said it was one of the best birthday party venues they have been to and that after, their kids asked to have their party there too. We will definitely be back!”
