They took all the time needed to thoroughly explain every aspect of the examination and treatment options, patiently answering all my questions without ever making me feel rushed.

They had special treats for both cats and dogs (which my pets absolutely loved!), and the exam rooms were spotlessly clean and designed to keep pets calm and comfortable. “Dr. Mary Ubatuba is great. The new vet Dr. Brian Johnston is great. The techs and receptionists are kind and efficient and knowledgeable.
I have been here with 2 cats, my sister/brother in law’s very old and very sick cat who they treated extremely well. I saw this first hand when I was cat sitting and he needed to take the cat in. They helped him (and his “brother”) live a long comfortable life even after they got ill - and my SIL said they were gentle and wonderful when it was time to put them down.
When I moved to the Downers Grove area I switched my vet care for my cat to Abbeywood. My cat has some serious chronic conditions and developed a new one more recently. Both Drs. Ubatuba and Johnston were fine with my not wanting to spend a lot of time and money to intensively treat the intestinal cancer we suspected. Instead, he gets care to prevent bladder stones, medicine for his thyroid, and added a steroid for his suspected intestinal cancer - reduced the inflammation, increased his comfort and has given him another happy year so far (they did not force me into expensive tests, surgery or chemo since he’s an old cat). They would have done the tests if I had wanted to know definitively what was causing my cat’s misery - and treated if we wanted to do that.
Abbeywood’s team is really attuned to what you need and as far as I can tell, technically great (getting blood and urine samples from my cat has never been easy).
Can’t say enough good about them.”

“I have been bringing my dog and cats to Dr. Dahl for about 10 yrs and Iove the kind, compassionate people that work there especially when you have to make the difficult decision to send your family member to heaven which I made that decision for my 21 yr old cat this past June. Dr. Dahl listens and answers all your questions so you know what's going on with your pet. Dr. Dahl is a wonderful vet as are her people. Highly recommend!”

“Can't say enough good things about VCA Westmont. They are well managed, very professional and very easy to work with. Their app also makes it so easy to schedule appointments, refill prescriptions and pull paperwork. I appreciate that they're upfront with pricing before doing any procedures. We saw multiple doctors and they were all great. They are thorough and explain things clearly. When we had to put our 16 yo Am Staff down, they were very kind and compassionate when setting up the appointment. Unfortunately, our pet got very sick a week before the appointment and had to be put down at the emergency vet. Even still, VCA sent a card with condolences signed by all the staff. It was such a sweet and welcome gesture! I highly recommend this facility.”

I would like to share a specific event that stuck with me and shows the heart of everyone at GEAH:
—3 years ago when one of my cats was *very* sick and had to stay overnight, one of the staff (I don’t remember who, I’m so sorry!!) took pictures of my baby and sent them to us so that we could still see her even though we couldn’t physically be with her. When my cat eventually died from her illness, the staff sent us a sympathy card— which is nice in and of itself, but the thing that touched my heart the most was seeing the GEAH staff write that they could tell that we took excellent care of our cats and loved them very much. Anyone who has lost a beloved pet will understand the guilt and the “what-if”s that stay with you for a long time, and getting that card did more to heal my broken heart than they probably realize.”

“Dr. Ness and Dr. Golan have been incredible with my pets. Earlier this year my rabbit had GI stasis, Dr. Golan was very quick to finding the right treatment plan and she was very attentive with my bun. I saw Dr. Ness for follow up exams and he was very communicative and friendly. His knowledge and experience speaks for itself.
The staff treat your animals with respect which goes a long way. The doctors and nurses handled my rabbit with care every time. Usually my rabbit is frightened at the vet but I could see how comfortable she was at Dr. Ness’ office! Only downside is reception can be hit or miss, sometimes they are pleasant and friendly other times cold.
I would recommend this hospital to anyone in the area looking for exotic animal care, I wish I found them sooner!”

A few years ago our regular vet referred us here to euthanize our very old very sick kitty. Despite the tragic memories that happened here the tech handled it perfectly. Because of that it allowed us to be fully present during Sargent Pepper’s last moments with us. Then a few days later they sent us a hand written condolence letter in the mail. It ment a lot.
