Wilmette Golf Club is a public golf course with a layout that many find perfect and challenging, featuring well-placed bunkers and water. The bunkers, tee boxes, and fairways are generally in good condition, and the course is considered very walkable. Practice facilities, including the range and practice greens, are also good. The conditions can vary, with some noting the fairways are a mixture of grasses and the greens are sometimes kept too soft or have inconsistent ball marks, which some expect at a public course. It is described by some as flat and average, while others recommend it for players of all skill levels. Customer service experiences are mixed. Some encounters with staff are friendly, but others report poor communication, unwelcoming attitudes, and feeling reprimanded over tee times, which can create a sense of exclusion. The pro shop and starters have received criticism in this area. The club also hosts outings and has a restaurant. Reviews of the food are mixed, with some finding items like scallops and pork chops excellent, while others describe outing food as lame. Drinks are considered very high-priced. The atmosphere can get loud on weekends with large groups. Overall, some golfers question the value compared to other courses in the Chicagoland area, while others find it a good price for a round, especially in the late fall.
This is probably the 2nd review I have ever written, golf was good. BUT this place has the GREATEST CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. 10/10.
