PLEASE STOP PLAYING COUNTRY MUSIC!!! Country music has become "code" for a certain brand of politics now, a politics that is conservative, alienating and distasteful. Sorry if you don't like hearing it but it's true. This is not a country music place. I don't like going into the store anymore because they have it blaring loudly which is awful for employees and customers alike. Who made that bad decision??? The new owners??? I have been a customer for 30 years and friendly to all the employees over that time. So to the new ownership: Turn off the country music and play standard popular music from the 90's to now. When you do I will change this review. Otherwise, good store and the upgrades are nice. EDITING THIS REVIEW TO SAY THE STORE WAS NOT PLAYING COUNTRY MUSIC THE LAST 2 OR 3 TIMES I WENT IN BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE. THANK YOU LAKESIDE.

Lived in the village for years. This USED to be the best sandwich shop around. In the last few years it has come under new management and has gone down the toilet. They have doubled the price of everything in the store. The sandwiches cost twice as much as they used to and have half the meat. I bought a loaf of bread that was maybe the size of my forearm and it was $8. Go to the Grand and save your money.

Wonderful experience to shop in Lakeside. Very friendly and super helpful staff. I was looking for something and owner of the store helped me to get it. We usually order sandwiches over the weekend for the big group, everyone love their preps. Overall great place to shop.

Absolutely criminal prices. Can get 7 dollars + off everything there by shopping anywhere else. Don't know how the people Winnetka allow themselves to be scammed so many times in a row.

Bought an $8.00 sandwich. It felt light when handed to me. So I asked. Was told management instructed staff to reduce the amount of meat. When I got home I realized the bread was not fresh. Guys the store will save some money with these changes but it lost a customer.

9/10 times I either accidentally purchase or pick up an item that it expired. New owners really need to put more care into the quality and safety of their products.

Amazing food at the deli...especially the Tuna Salad, Egg Salad and homemade soups. Great food & customer service.
