Great canoe launch and starting point for the Des Plaines Water Trail. Good parking and great easy river access. Also right on the des plaines river trail for bikes so it is easy to park and paddle and ride. With easy and well maintained access points like this there is no reason not to explore your local waterways!

Well maintained launch with parking. The launch is shallow and very muddy. Water was 1.6 to 2.2 feet deep around the launch. Water was shallow dropping down to 1/2' heading north of the launch.

When I went to this location it was a very windy day. I followed the trail to the right, down to the water. At the closed foot bridge I would cast a Texas-rigged weedless worm next to the bridge. That got me a small pike and a 12" lm bass in a short time. Also follow the trail to the other side under the road bridge and fish that whole area. Very nice day of fishing!

Every time I came here this summer, August and after... The pedestrian bridge was closed which takes away alot of the fishable water if your not in a kayak or canoe

Good to launch your canoe from shore, that's about it. No trails, docs were not ready to be used and much litter.Nice parking lot though.

Great spot to park if your going on the river. The parking lot is not too far from the river either. You won't have to haul your gear far.
