  Door locked (again). No sign explaining why @ 2pm. Short staffed ? Smoking out back ? Who knows, try another location folks... this is a common occurrence at some of their locations. Maybe opening a DG every 3 city blocks wasn't such a great idea. Just while writing this review, I have seen 2 others come and leave. 👎

  This store and most of the others are messy and cluttered. I dont know what the problem is with Dollar General. They shouldnt expect the cashiers to stock while checking customers out. It's a dumb idea. Probably should pay their employees better so they can retain them. It's like the management lacks respect for their own company. The boxes and pallets blocking the isles and in front of merchandise is just bad all the way around. The employee that seems to be there when I come in is always polite but my guess he is irritated at the situation he has to put up with. Stop building new stores and fix the ones you have. Pretty much common sense.

  Yesterday and today I went to this store and there were no people there. Paying for my purchases after a long wait with other people we had to return the products and never leave. No one came to the checkout, what terrible service.

  This location has been under new management (me) since the beginning of October 2023. I just want to share some updates for those who have given lower level reviews.The parking lot was completely torn up and repaved in November. NO MORE CRATERS!The store itself: still a few items on the floor that get stocked throughout the shift by cashiers, such as the health and beauty areas, BUT, I was able to get a TON of out of stock items back in the store and back on the shelves.We have a whole new team in the store and have gotten nothing less than amazing reviews from our valued customers!We aren’t where we want to be, but for those who have ditched this location due to bad experiences in the past, come back and check out the improvements we have made SO FAR!! Plenty more to come!

  Corporate treats the employees at this (and every) like garbage. They charge more (per unit) than any department store and pay their employees less than any major company in the USA.Not to mention having less employees per store than anyone else.Hire John Oliver as your CEO. That's your only hope.

  I had bought duplicate items bc they had a small sign for a deal. Not only could the manager not figure out why, she lied about what it had said & took the sign so I couldn't go look myself!! How rude.

  For two weeks now, every time my husband or I stop at the Dollar General off 53rd St, the doors are locked.This was my go to convenience store because it's the DG closest to home on my way from work. However, I see that either this store has closed or whatever the issue is (lack of staff, maybe?) that I will now shop elsewhere. I get disappointed that I think I can make a quick stop on my way home from work, but instead I park, get out and walk up to locked doors. The parking lot always has, every year, deep pot holes that can do damage to a car, if you don't maneuver around them.Very disappointing customer service because there isn't even signage to indicate closure. I will now shop at another location, if even DG at all.

  Well the manager closed the doors because they didn't have some one to stock the shelves. Didn't see the manager stocking the shelves while the doors are closed ?

  Had a couple hundred dollars in my cart when I had to use the restroom, sign on door says you have to ask for a key which is ridiculous in itself as an adult to have to ask and announce to the whole store that I need to use the restroom to gain access. Then I was told upon asking that they didn’t have a working bathroom. I left all my stuff in my cart and walked out. If I can’t use your restroom then you can’t have my money, I’ll shop elsewhere.
