I was out of town and my utility trailer broke down. I needed a nut for a bolt and didn't know what size it was. Jennifer helped me find what I needed for many many trials and error. It was the last hour before closing and we had a fast upcoming deadline. She helped me do what I needed to make sure I was okay I made sure I had the tools to put it on and we made it and I was able to go home, savewithout any more drama.

Locally owned Hardware store I have been coming here since a child. I had to stop in and pick up a replacement handle for my storm door. They have amazing customer service and someone was there to greet customers and be of assistance. Quick check out. It's in the heat of the summer and the store was cool. Happy to shop local and thankful for great customer service! :)

Worst place to do business and people with Superiority complex. We used to buy propane gas like 10 per months. Their propane machine to measure the gas amount is broken so they are using old weights system, not accurate at all. Sometime they don’t fill the tanks enough but out of courtesy we were not saying anything. Today they came and made half because the 30lb tanks were 40? so he called manager called Barbra, she said 40 but showed my 40lb tank that was huge, when I told here they these tanks were equal in the size and space so she realized that I was right but still were not listening to me . Trying to give me half tanks but charge fully, when I objected Barbara turned into a devil shouting at me, “ stop! Don’t talk” ….! Then his guy put hand on me and pushed me!
Extremely awful people and worst place . We will never use this worst place again!

Gets old going in here and every single thing you buy is priced wrong... Always 2-5 dollars more per item than the tag. The store needs to overhaul their price tags on the shelves.

I have been going to Northgate True Value for 23 years. Though some of the selection s are limited compared to the big box stores, I find that most of the time, I can get what I need. I like the smaller floorplan. Since they don't claim to be an appliance store, a lumber yard, a furniture store, or a nursery, if it's hardware I am after, I can get in and out of there. I don't have to wait at the "customer service" button. It's unusual to get very far without being asked if I need assistance. Also, many of the people working at NTV have experience with the project I am on. They are always friendly and knowledgeable and genuinely happy to help. Keeping customer service alive and well these days means so much. In the days of AI, "go to our website," and calling a script-reading employee across the globe, Northgate is one of the few islands of human interaction left. Please don't ever change that True Value. And well-behaved dogs are welcome.
