My Dad use to take me here back in the 50's. I was just about 9 years old. Back then it was called Wheelers. And it was a favorite stop for the truckers to grab a bite to eat. And if the truckers liked it... it had to be great place to stop and eat. The fact that it is practically out in the middle nowhere adds that extra charm.

This epitomizes country hospitality with friendly service, generous portions, and kind customers. The store offers interesting wares and repurposed historic items. Take a back road to this beautiful and historic building. Worth a visit!

Nick, and his team at Mercantile 37, went above and beyond in customer service and craftsmanship. When we asked about a custom stain match, they embraced the challenge. Nick shared his expertise about how stains will deepen and evolve over time. Our new dining room table is beautiful and is completely customized in size and color. We love the way it looks in our space as it blends seamlessly with our other furniture and yet, at the same time, it stands out as a new treasured center of our room.It was a pleasure to work with Nick and visit his workshop and store for inspiration. If you have an idea for a custom piece for your home, take your idea to Nick and enjoy the creative process. Thank you for the wonderful experience and beautiful end result!

The chicken salad sandwich was very good. It was large and plenty to eat. $2.50 for a can of soda seemed kind of expensive. We’ve been looking forward to going to visiting this place for a long, long time. It looks really cool being restored from the outside. I couldn’t wait to finish our lunch to go look in the shop. Unfortunately everything was very overpriced. A small 2‘ x 1‘ piece of wood planed was $129 . The prices seem to be at least triple what I would find anywhere else. We had planned on doing a lot of shopping, but walked out empty-handed. A lot of neat things to look at but it was more like going to a museum to look and not touch and then walk out. Overall, it was a fun destination and a neat place. Wish the prices were a little bit lower. I think they would sell a whole lot more.

Cute spot. Lunch was good & cafe service was great. The shop had unique items but I won’t bother making the trip again after being made to feel uncomfortable by an employee following my friend & me closely around the store.

After decades of driving by this place since i was a kid, and seeing it restored, I finally made it in today & grabbed some coffee and a bagel from wheelers cafe. I am so happy someone took the time to restore this place instead of let it go to waste or be torn down. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy coffee on their cute patio! Would recommend and will make a point of stopping here again!

Have completely enjoyed this place. They have carefully selected quality work from real Indiana craftsmen to stock their store. Eclectic and current at the same time. The garden shop is being prepared for next weekend.... Just in time for Mothers Day. Couple that with custom hardware to build your own live edged tables (see upstairs)! Product is well priced for quality. We enjoyed both a ham sandwich and a veggie wrap for lunch. See photos. Both very tasty. everyone we spoke with was very friendly and helpful. If you visit don't walk by the pottery quickly. The colors and feel are wonderful. So nice to find such talent so close to home!

I was amazed at how busy the place was considering it's not near anything else. But it's worth the trip. It's a very cool place with lots of unique gifts made by local artisans. The food was very good and it's plentyful. The sandwich would be two meals pretty easily. I got the Veggie and it was really tasty. My friend got the Italian and had good things to say about it. The parking lot is easy in-and-out with lots of spaces. The people working there were very friendly and helpful.

Had a custom table built and it turned out amazing. Not to mention the cute handmade items for sale that are all locally made.
