This place runs a classic bait-and-switch scam operation. I reserved a car to visit my family for Thanksgiving and when I showed up, they first tried to claim the car I reserved was unavailable and upcharge me for a more expensive car, then Debbie became extremely unprofessional and refused to rent to me at all after I called customer service and secured a refund bringing my rental total down to the original price.I checked online on their website and the car I reserved (and they claimed they didn’t have) is currently available to reserve for today for $10 LESS than the original price I had reserved it for. And plenty of small cars just sitting in the lot!

Lots of pre planning goes with a big move out of state .DO NOT MAKE RESERVATION WITH BUDGETYOU DO NOT MATTER TO THEMTHEY DO NOT HAVE RESERVATION !!BLOOMINGTON IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.I made my reservation 1.5 weeks ahead of time . Put my credit card on file . Did the pre check in with drivers licence. Called conformed 3 times . Was told that morning equipment was there and waiting for pick up.Drove 1 hour to get to Bloomington location where said equipment was to be .Walked in and immediately told they did not have the car carrier, gave it the person there before me .I called corporate and was told they showed 3 at that location. ( think they wanted me to give them some cash)My furniture had to be out of my rental at midnight and I had to be 1000 miles away for the walk thru for my new rental. Also had 5 people who took off work to load truck.In total I lost 8,000.00DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYTHEY DO NOT CARE AT ALL

Caution:They will not help for anything.The truck is in worst condition, very old model. After driving for 20 miles, the engine light started blinking.The wind shield vipers wont work and you keep your life at link even during mild rain.You can feel the wind when driving over the highway from the driver window and ofcouse, if it rains, the water will come inside from the airspaces in the driving window.And furthermore, it will drink gas like water.There is no power outlet for charging, reminding this car from 90’s or 80’s.If there is an uphill, and when you gave accelerator, it just make noise without performance. Seems they purchased these third grade trucks in auction and they repair and keep it for rent, for my ford 350 truck the driven miles are 170k.If you are driving budget truck, means you are driving your free spirit to heaven, life at risk!!!

I had a reservation five days in advance. The lady in front couldn’t care less, didn’t call to advise no car were available in the whole five days. I guess we get paid to sit on our butt. Online also still had car available in this location that day, zero accurate inventory. Might as well close if they aren’t going to work.

Arrived on the day to find there were no trucks available. The woman at the counter couldn’t have cared less. Allegedly they phoned everyone the day before to inform but I never got this. And then 2 days later they’re trying to charge me for the rental. Do not use

Terrible customer service. Reserved a car 2 days before I needed it. Reserved an intermediate suv. When I arrived the day of the reservation I was told that they didn't have an intermediate suv available and they would not up grade me to a larger suv which they had on the lot. No problem if this were already reserved right, but instead I was told I could pay more and rent one of those but wouldn't upgrade me because the car I reserved wasn't available. If I wanted to pay for a larger suv I would have reserved that when I made a reservation. We to Enterprise and was much happier and got what I wanted. Terrible location with zero customer service. I will make sure that my company never uses budget again. Debbie is the manager and she wouldn't give a last name. I am sure that's not her real name either but nothing surprising about that shady budget.

Blown away at how terrible the rental was.I get the box truck and do a super fast walk around since they closed at 2 and I wasn't able to be serviced until then (I had shown up at 1:30). The truck had the hardest time getting above 40mph which I assumed was because they gave it to me with less than a quarter of a tank of gas but boy was I wrong. Driving from Bedford IN to Fairview IL I was never able to go above 50mph unless going downhill. the back of the truck was disgusting. I had to buy vinyl sheets to put down. On the drive back it rained and the windshield wipers were barely working. The icing on the cake was when I got pulled over because there was a headlight out!

Same problem as everyone else. Reserved a truck and waited 30 minutes in line only to be told there is no trucks available. Wasn’t offered an alternative. I would only try this place as a last resort, otherwise go elsewhere.

Should have listened to the reviews! Showed up for my truck rental, they didn't have one available that day or the next. They did not even attempt to contact me that the rental would not be ready, made me call a 800 number to get a refund, and charged me a "no show" fee. Very stressful experience and based on the other reviews this location should not be in business.

Rented a vehicle in advance, had everything set to be moved, and was called while I was on my way there for pickup to inform me that there was no vehicle. Still trying to figure out if I was charged for a vehicle that turned out to not exist.

Made a reservation to pick up today and they won't let me pick up today. Rude person at the counter. I have a reservation number. So idk how the world works even though I did my due diligence. This place needs closed, employees terminated. Wasted driving a hour and a half to get no satisfactory service from employee or location.

“Reserved” a 26’ truck 12 days ago only to get a call the night before to say they don’t have the truck I reserved. Saying the person before me didn’t return it. Well what’s the point of “reserving” a truck if they don’t have a back up plan if someone didn’t return, or something happens. You can “reserve” but they can’t hold it. This company has no customer service. Transferred me around to 3+ different people, just to tell me there’s nothing they can do. Okay thanks for nothing..literally. Now I have to cancel the movers I have scheduled today since I have no truck. Absolutely ridiculous!! I should have listened to friends & other reviews saying they do this kind of stuff with rentals all the time. Will never again use this worthless company again!!

We had a confirmed rental made over a week prior, and after waiting an hour to get the rental, found out that no trucks were available. The woman ahead of us who had made her rental the evening before also was told no truck was available. I don't understand how they can confirm a rental when they do not have the trucks available. They did not even send any information indicating they could not provide what they had promised.

Please avoid this location and Budget car rental, for the sake of personal respect and freedom. Budget is a bureaucratic, unsympathetic corporation, where you do not count as an individual person, but another number. I have never left a bad review in my life, but I feel I have no other choice in this situation. This particular Budget location and especially the corporate system have been a huge nightmare to deal with. We arrived to return our car as soon as the location opened to find a huge line, probably because they open so late (10am!). We asked if we could drop our keys at the counter, which an employee said was fine. When we got the bill, we found we had been charged an extra day because they checked us in after the line died down but did not make note that we had returned the car on time. I have made numerous phone calls and written numerous emails, but Budget will not return my hard-earned money for the extra day for which I was wrongly charged. The best they say they can offer is half off that day, which is absolutely unacceptable, considering this is not my fault, but the fault of this Budget location's negligence and inaptitude. Budget's corporate system is terribly unsympathetic. Canned email after canned email, rejection after rejection, and robotic false promises that they looked into my case confirmed that I and my fellow customers mean nothing to them. Though the Bloomington location said they would try to help, they were nearly impossible to reach on the phone and never returned my last call. All of this time, I have tried to remain calm and respect the employees, but apparently you need to kick and scream to succeed in this world, as I was unsuccessful. I had to go to the Bloomington location in person to get a straight answer, and though there was "nothing they could do", they did confirm that this situation has occurred several times. I think the Bloomington location may have their hands tied behind their backs, but in that case, corporate needs to step it up and respect us as real people. I have lost faith in Budget, absolutely, but also in the systems that allow abuse like this to happen. I feel helpless, and all I can do is warn others to not let this happen to them - to avoid companies like Budget that herd us like livestock ever further and deeper into the rings of a corporate inferno, and further away from how a cooperative society should function. I will be looking for a company that respects me in the future.
