Not only to you have to pay an additional $10 a day to park in the lot (why is this not a part of the room charge, what a huge inconvenience for business travelers especially) but I waited 28 minutes for an $11 grilled cheese made with bare hands just to be inedible. Terrible way to treat guests...I would not recommend them to anyone.

I have stayed at the Bloomington Courtyard many times, and have always been happy with it. Very well located right downtown, comfortable rooms, helpful staff. But I don’t think I will stay again.
At some point since my last visit, someone apparently realized that the hotel could nickel-and-dime its guests in a new way, by charging for parking. We are now charged to park in exactly the same outdoor surface lot where there had never been a charge before. There is, as a practical matter, nowhere else to park when staying at the Courtyard, and management obviously knows that.
I did not appreciate learning at check-in that my stay would cost $30 more than I had been told it would. (I appreciate that the manager has said in response to other comments that the parking charge is shown on the website. I don’t doubt that it is buried in the fine print somewhere, but I didn’t see it and based on my many past visits, I would not have thought it necessary to look for it.). I get really fed up with bogus “fees” and other made-up charges, at hotels and elsewhere, and I’m sorry Mariott felt it had to get in on the act. This Courtyard was always a solid option in Bloomington and I will miss having that option.

A few weeks ago we had reservations to stay at the Courtyard Bloomington that we had made through Hotels.com. We've stayed at this hotel before and it's in a decent location to downtown. Unfortunately, five days prior to our trip I got Covid and knew we could not go on the trip. We reached out to Hotels.com and they told us that although the reservation was nonrefundable they would approve the refund if the hotel approved it. We spoke with a nice guy at the hotel and he said he would check with his GM. They eventually said they couldn't refund the money as it was made through Hotels.com but Hotels.com said it was up to the hotel to allow us to cancel. We really thought that the hotel would understand about Covid and they had plenty of time to resell the room (it was a football weekend.). We finally heard from the manager who said he would talk with his staff and get back with us. I've followed up and we have never heard from the hotel. Just a bummer all around and this hotel did nothing to help us.

This is the worst hotel in Bloomington, Indiana. I overheard that a guy was trying to just use the restroom and if you’re not a paying customer, you cannot use the restroom and you can use all the restrooms all the other hotels here in Bloomington, Indiana.

Before I retired, I traveled a lot. I am a fan of Marriott and that was always my first choice of hotels. My recent stay at the Bloomington Courtyard reminded me of why they have been my hotel of choice. I appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of Juan and all the staff. Next time I'm in Bloomington, I'll be staying here.

The place is very clean, except for the store, they don't have what is required. I had a huge problem with the reception, the name Ian, an American, to be honest, he always behaved a little racist. I took a photo in the lobby and I really wanted to see my photos. I didn't like that from there. all good the rest

They treat me so well here! They address Mr S, and have a really good idea of hospitality. I stay at probably 130 different properties a year, most of them Marriotts, but 20 definitely world class, some pri 5 star non Marriotts
Nearby activities: Plenty of good food around, shopping, etc

Very pricey accommodation in big downtown Bloomington, IN. At the prices they charge I can't believe you have to pay $11 a day for parking. Almost the same shake down as Chicago. Big city shakedown at a small town location, how quaint

For parking you need to use your mobile and pay $11 day. The phone in the room no longer works, the employee at the front desk was absent for several minutes at the moment of registration….

SURPRISE! 164$ Room has 76$ of extra charges including 18.50 refund protection on a non- refundable room. SURPRISE! Also has a 50$ per room deposit that has to be put on a card IN PERSON....can't just call a number in. To be fair it IS on the website at the VERY bottom in the tiniest possible print in very light Grey. VERY easy to miss. Kept the party involved standing at the front desk for 45 minutes until someone got there with a card to make the deposit. And the woman at the desk was less than pleasant. Noone offered to take us to the room to see if there was previous damages which I felt was the least they could do with the new damage deposit protocol.
