Second time I've been and both times they have been very quick (20 mins) for an oil change and even cleaned vacuumed my car and checked other vital things. The total cost wasn't too bad either! My favorite place for an oil change by far.

These guys are awesome, my wife got a flat tire in that strip mall and I went to put on the spare tire but couldn’t get the bolts off the VW. the guy from Grease monkey came over and said to bring the car over and they changed the tire for us no charge! We really appreciated the help

Received phone call apology from Stephen (review fixed)
I came to Grease Monkey in Bloomington, IN (Walnut St) for an oil change on my 2021 Audi S4. I was quoted $110, with a possible $10–$20 more if extra oil was needed. Since my friend had been here a few times and recommended them, I trusted them and left for lunch at a nearby Mexican restaurant.
Shortly after, I got a call from the shop telling me my car needed a “special” oil and that the total would now be $170+tax. I hesitated, but trusted my friend’s recommendation and agreed.
When I returned, I was told they had cleaned my windows and vacuumed the interior — both of which were not true. The windows were still dirty, and the cabin looked exactly the same as before. It felt like I was being lied to directly, face to face.
While the oil used was in fact the correct spec for my engine (VW 508 00), the way they handled the entire process — unclear pricing, last-minute pressure, and dishonest service claims — made me question their integrity.
As a young Asian customer, I can’t help but wonder if I was overcharged simply because I looked inexperienced or easy to manipulate. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve had that experience in this town.

Brian at Grease Monkey, went out of his way to diagnose and fix a problem I had with my car when I went in just to get an oil change. Best customer service, would recommend to anyone in Bloomington.

Customer service is what puts this shop above all else in town. Quick, efficient, and to the point. I take both my cars here over anywhere else in town.

Need get new oil change location every time they either break hinges on glovebox looking for filter , forget to reset oil light , last time removed a sticker is left on truck from 2011 that my late husband put on I was devastated, and I usually been going there years taking my car & truck , I’m wondering if oil even got changed last time becuz it’s low after 1500 miles , they take advantage of widows like myself & are rude

The best I can tell, this is an honest oil change shop. They do what they advertise they do. Have never tried to overcharge me or upsell me something I didn’t need. Hopefully, they stay honest. Hard to find a repair shop that’s honest. 5 stars.

I went to Grease Monkey for years until a recent visit turned this around. I went on October 25th to get my oil changed. Upon doing so everything went smooth as most of my visits did. Not even a month later and a little over a thousand miles my engine started to stall and the oil light came on as well as the engine light . Perplexed, I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.I contacted my mechanic because I thought it was a deeper issue. He plugged in his reader and it said it was an “unknown” code. He started his diagnostic on my car and the last thing he checked was the dip stick. Completely bone dry. Additionally, gunk had built up as well. After getting his opinion and other mechanics the conclusion was that Grease Monkey DID NOT change the oil correctly.Obviously I was deeply concerned, I called Grease Monkey and spoke to one of the mechanics which he said that he would have Brian (manager) contact me about my concern. Brian called me a few days later and when trying to explain what was going on, he was telling me about the process they take (like I didn’t know what they did since I have been going there for years). He then tried to say that my model burns through oil and is a known issue. After doing extensive research, everything I read explained that the issue typically happens after 100,000 miles if the recall (which I had taken care of through the dealership over a year ago) did not happen. The problem with all this was is that every time I tried to give a scenario Brian would not listen, he was condescending, and he did not want to make it right. He even said the owner (Steven) would contact me and I still have not heard from him til this day.Very disappointed that this happened and unfortunately I will not be returning to this business. I hope this does not happen to anyone else and please double check there work if you go back.
