Amazing little winery in the hills alongside the Ohio River. Beautiful decor, and location with excellent wine. The Table wine is incredible. Can't wait to revisit!

I cannot imagine giving Blue Heron anything other than 5 stars! We stumbled upon this winery while motorcycle riding through this beautiful area. They were so welcoming! Lynn asked us what type of wine we liked and had several options lined up quickly. The peaceful nature of the winery and beautiful view were a real treat. We cannot wait to return!

Blue Heron makes a variety of fun wines! The Celtic Cross is worth The Visit alone. Wonderful cabin to stay in with a great view of the river and some pretty darn good food!

Super nice place and super nice people! Couldn't find a better view of the Ohio River if you tried. Oh and we found some wine we really liked too. It's a shame we didn't have time to see the band that was going to play later on.

I have not yet been able to visit the Blue Heron but I cannot speak highly enough of Lynn and Gary and the incredibly kind and compassionate people they are. My friend was visiting the area and had a medical crisis and they did not hesitate to offer their support. They went out of their way to be a huge help to my friend in her time of need even though she was a stranger to them. I can only imagine that the business they manage and run is as exceptional and of the highest standard as their character and willingness to serve another person. I hope that I get to visit their vineyard someday and meet them in person. If you are in the area, I'm confident you won't regret any time spent at the Blue Heron!

Blue Heron Winery is perched overlooking the Ohio River. The dry red wines were surprisingly very good, as was the catawba. Lovely large patio right on the river. The owners are the nicest people who enjoy what they do. The Celtic Cross is a must-see.

This is a great family owned and operated business. It is so scenically located in beautiful Perry County near Rocky Point on the Ohio River. The owners are very friendly and knowledgable and will help you select a great local wine. You do not need to be an expert to come here they will help you. You can enjoy a drink on their porch high above the river.

Visiting Blue Heron Vineyards & Winery was one of the most memorable experiences of our fall travels this year. The reviews we had read, both on Harvest Host and Google, were impressive, but as Google maps led us up a winding gravel sideroad, we started wondering if we had made the right decision by veering off from our itinerary's main route. Within a minute of arriving to our destination, our doubts were fully dispelled! Blue Heron's setting is almost magical, with spectacular views of the Ohio River and the forested, hilly surroundings. The winery’s premises, including its tasting room and “The Snug” (inspired by British pubs’ small and comfortable drinking rooms), are most charming and welcoming. We enjoyed their full-bodied reds and their crisp whites. Owners Lynn and Gary were incredibly gracious hosts; we received from Lynn a fascinating account of the winery’s historical background, and from Gary a tour of their property, including a ride to what is possibly the largest Celtic Cross carving in the world, which they commissioned local artist Greg Harris to sculpt from a massive granite stone—a marvel in an of itself. We are already planning to pay a longer visit to Blue Heron next time we are in the area!

Beautiful scenery, wonderfully kind people, and delicious wine: 100% recommend visiting! I suggest renting a cabin right there on the hill and making a vacation out it!

The winery sits high on a hill with a spectacular view of the Ohio River. Lots of outdoor seating with a beautiful view. Very enjoyable to grab a bottle and sit and relax. Cash only! They will have music on occasion. Great place for small gatherings.

All the other reviews are right- this place is a must-stop if you find yourself in the area. They have amazing views, a relaxing atmosphere, very friendly and helpful owners, the world’s largest Celtic cross, cabins to stay in, and to top it all off they have some of they best wine you’ll be lucky enough to stumble across. I loved that they had a larger selection of dry wines, as most wineries pack all of their wines full of overbearing and unnecessary sugar that covers up the taste of the grapes. We met one of the owners, Gary, and he was a fantastic host and bartender. Don’t miss out on driving up here and scoring a few bottles of amazing wine, and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Ohio River!
