I feel good about taking my cats & dogs to Dr. Schoene. He is an older gentleman who comes across as gruff, but I and the animals respect him. My stubborn 16-year-old cat hangs on to every word and does what he asks of her! He treats only what they need to be treated for. He is straightforward in his instructions and honest in his pricing. I hope we never have to go to another veterinarian ?

Best animal hospital in the area. Although it's a few miles away in Cannelton IN, their staff is very knowledgeable, service is fast and rates are very good. No one in Owensboro could match ot top my experenices.

Very nice, clean, did NOT STINK, I emphasize that it did NOT SMELL BAD because most places like this I have ever been in had at least a hint of a foul smell. This place was very pleasant

The best vet in town. He is all about caring for your pets not just taking your money. Very affordable unlike the the other vets. He has been caring for my pets for more than 20 years. I high recommend County Wide Animal Clinic.

Having been going here for years does not matter in person or on the phone the front desk lady has zero professionalism. Extremely rude and condescending to us. Tried to tell us we have only brought one dog in for vaccines when we go like every 6 months to get flea and tick medicine and get any shots we need. Apparently, our dogs just don't exist.

So a bit of scolding for having your animal so unhealthy. I mean you do want your pet alive don't you. I read in one review that their pet died upon seeing the veterinarian. Pets die from illnesses all the time. Sometimes they cannot be saved sometimes they die unexpectedly even after the veterinarian has treated them. Sometimes we humans are told by our MDs that we must wait and see how the medication reacts to us or if other symptoms present themselves in the meantime we may get better or worse. The motto for all doctors is: " First, do no harm." This I can assure you that Dr. William Schoene, DVM practices diligently. So yes even after a vet sees a pet or I see a doctor I may die. Even in his office. Happens all the time. He is no nonsense, very competent, and up on the latest medical knowledge available. His staff have often educated me on my animals and current medication's and pet diseases that happen to be occurring in the US and locally. I have learned so much from them. Currently my 120 pound yellow lab like my other animals love to go to the vet. After they receive shots they are still wagging their tails so hard. Cats not so much, but I have never seen a cat want to be in a vets office. And they really like Dr. Schoene even after their injections. My dog has really touchy feet but the doc has such a quick draw on clipping his nails that my dog does not have a chance to react and he does not j*** or try to nip he stood stationary because it goes so quickly. Plus he's highly trained but he will only put up with so much. The first time I warned them that I thought we should use a muzzle. But they assured me that the doc is really good at it and boy did he show that he is. I was amazed that Max did not freak out. Furthermore, if you do not like women telling you what to do go someplace else they are only trying to keep your animal alive by telling you how to correctly dose your animal in very clear words so that a fifth grader can understand them, if you're listening, with the medication that they are providing to you. Undoubtedly , ifyou want a man to tell you just ask for Dr. Schoene and he will be just as stern with medication warnings and the care of your pet. Trust me I know from personal experience and I need it and I appreciate it that they care for my animals so much to take the time to explain everything. Who does that anymore? If you don't want a lecture on how to take care of your dog, which you're probably not, because that is why you're getting the lecture, then go to an herbalist and grab some garlic pills and treat your pet that way. Best vet in 100 miles.

I had to make the very hard decision to euthanize my beloved pet. Everyone I dealt with at County Wide today was absolutely caring, understanding and comforting. I have never received that level of care at any other vet's office. I dont think we will ever own another dog but if we do, we have a new vet to go to. Highly recommend.

Dr. Schoene does a great job. From our little furry friends to farm animals.

Absolute worse experience I have had with a veterinarian office! In an attempt to seek urgent care for my cat, I called their mobile number and explained that I was in need of help, only to have the rude woman working the desk state "we aren't accepting new customers" and hang up instantaneously without a further word. She did not even stay on the line to advise any other vets or simply say goodbye.I have read where others have had issues with this same woman. It's a shame that management does not remove her from employment. I can't help but look down on a business that allows such behavior to be their fore-front representation. For this reason, I will continue to deter others from utilizing the county-wide clinic. I will gladly defamate their business for years to come!

I’ve been going here for years & the lady at the front desk who always answers the phone has ALWAYS been so rude and unprofessional. She has the worst customer service skills, I think it’s highly unprofessional to sigh at your customers because they aren’t sure of the answer to give and to have an attitude towards you when you say anything. I also read through the reviews and I’m not the only one who has had to deal with this so SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE! This has upset me highly because I’ve tried to be nice and give her many chances since I am not there that often. I will be taking my fur babies else where from now on until miss girl can learn how to treats others with kindness or she finds a new job.

I wouldn't give them 1 star if that was an option. I'm pretty sure they assisted in the death of my sweet lucy. The vet needs to retire. He has no clue how to attend to a pet unless he is giving them a yearly shot. The women up front are rude. They could care less about the well being of your pet. The tall one needs to find a job that does not deal with interacting with people. If you want to prolong your pets life go elsewhere.
