Market district is my favorite market in Indy! Every time I'm in the Carmel area I make it a point to stop by. They have soooo many fresh food options perfect for a quick lunch. I usually go for the fresh sushi or the salar bar. Prices aren't too bad considering everything is so fresh and high quality!

If ever I was going to live in a store, it would be Market District in Carmel. There's something about this place that makes me just want to be there ALL the time. The produce is pretty fantastic. It's big and bright and everything is fresh and beautiful. The sushi department is top notch and you'll find ample prepared foods to choose from. They have a lovely charcuterie department where you'll find all kinds of cheeses and sausages and olives and fresh pastas, as well as a gorgeous meat department. The bakery is fabulous with all kinds of pastries and breads to choose from. And the aisles are filled with all kinds of things that make you want to cook all day long. The little housewares shop in the back is always full of interesting little goodies, and the candy shop near the front is always stocked with plenty of nostalgia and seasonal sweets. I have found the pharmacy to be a hidden gem, with the nicest folks staffing the place. Lines are very rare and move quickly. As for checkout, I've done both self-serve and regular and both are just fine. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful. I love this place.

Where did the focus on customer service go? Once upon a time, there was a quality, high-priced grocery store that catered to the overall shopping experience. The management had great fruit & vegetable selections, an enticing bakery, and hard-to-find products at a price higher than its competitors. Shoppers paid the extra money because they felt special. Those days are gone. You can still find the fruit & vegetables, the bakery, and the hard-to-find items at higher prices, but now you will find a plethora of "self-service" checkout lanes with waiting shoppers' carts clogging the aisle near those lanes. Expect to spend more time using their scanning machines and bagging your own groceries. Staff members are available if you can find one. They might be too busy, however, to thank you for shopping at Market District. Those employees are working in the camouflaged "full service" lanes, strategically placed in between the "self-service" lanes. Management made an odd decision: keeping prices high and removing any resemblance of feeling special as a shopper. On the bright side, if you go very early in the morning or near closing, the checkout lanes are not busy.

On the way home from a Dr's appointment, I asked my wife to stop because they tend to have good produce. I found some good looking grapes and a bag of mandarin oranges. Upon going to check out, I find one lane that has someone to check you out. When I tried to hand the cashier a $20 to pay, she refused to take the bill from me. There was a coin & bill mechanism below my knees that I did not see. I was told that was the only way to pay. I nearly just walked out right then. I've had 15 back surgeries and more than 20 others throughout my body. I'm not able to bend over without causing a great deal of pain. This decision to take agency away from the clerks, you limit their ability to assist someone with needs. Sure the machines don't make mistakes, but you've now lost a customer. Even though it's my favorite place for fruit, I'm not going to be caught in that difficult and embarrassing situation that you just forced me to be involved. Cutting labor costs is going to cost you customers like myself.

We are longtime customers. Recently we tried the bakery's pumpkin pie. It was so loaded with clove, my mouth was burning. Immediately discarded.

I wish I lived closer to Market District for several reasons: 1. Produce - the section is clean and fresh 2. Seafood- good pricing and great selection 3. Bakery-solid variety and flavors 4. Bourbon- unbelievable selection, especially for a grocery store. Market District can improve on their front end process which is disjointed and under staffed.

Just had to walk out of this place for the 3rd time in the last few months. They're either always ridiculously understaffed, or like today the women behind the cheese counter was too busy talking with her friends to help customers. Not worth the hassle to end up paying more than regular grocery prices.

Absolutely an amazing grocery store to shop at. Definitely one of a kind! They have amazing items that you cannot find at other grocery stores. I love fresh flowers and this is my go to place to shop for them. I also love the art place is placed around the store. It really makes the store look different from everyone else.

I used to love this place, but they are NO cashiers and the checkout process is fully automated. Since I am going to be put to work can I use the break rooms? Probably the same answer to the question, Will there be any reductions in the prices of my groceries? Horrible service!!!!

Yes to the selection. Yes to the service. Not so much for pricey items but the quality matches. The store is relatively large and has a wide range of products. The bakery section was my favorite.

This is by far one of the best pharmacies I’ve ever visited. Lizzie was fantastic and helped checked all options for my medication and to see if there were any discounts. Not only was the service great but she was understanding and showed empathy. It’s refreshing since typically I visit CVS and they are cold, short, and uncaring. My usual experience at CVS makes me feel like they are looking down on me for my medication but not here. I’m going to be switching all of my families business here.
