We loved everything about our stay! Hotel has a gorgeous artsy and musical retro vibe. Although service declined at many hotels following Covid, Hotel Carmichael rolls out the red carpet and gives guests an excellent customer service experience. The champagne toast and American songbook experience in the piano bar was so much fun. We ordered a delicious charcuterie tray for dinner which was a perfect match for the outstanding cocktails. We found the hotel to be an excellent value for the money and are definitely planning a return visit so that we can experience a show at Feinsteins.

The hotel itself was lovely but the customer service did not align. We booked 2 rooms and requested late checkout for both. They granted a 4PM checkout due to the fact that the rooms were reserved by a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member. On the day of checkout we were told they needed us to vacate one of the rooms as late checkout was only approved for one of them. This was NOT what was originally communicated to us. We were not at the hotel at the time so we had to leave what we were doing to gather our things. When we arrived at the hotel, hotel staff were in our room and were gathering our personal belongings. They did allow us to stay as long as we needed in the other room but with 5 people that was a tight squeeze. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

My wife and I showed up for our stay on Sunday afternoon. We typically cant afford the nicer hotels but I wanted to take my wife away for a short birthday getaway so I could spoil her with a nice dinner and a relaxing evening away from the kids. It was very slow with barely any guests (empty parking lot). We were given a room with a terrible view of the inner hotel courtyard that was covered in construction. We were told the restaurant was closed but that the bar and room service were available.We stopped by the bar to ask if they had any coffee (they didnt). Later that evening we called room service to request some French fries and they said they were out.A nicer view in an empty hotel and a few basic gestures of service, is all it would have taken to make a good impression. As it stands, I couldn't wait to leave.Here's the kicker; I work as a chauffer and I drive guests to this hotel all the time. I used to sing its praises. Now it'll just be "no comment" when I'm asked about it.The margins are always in the small details. Maybe next time, but I doubt it

Beautiful hotel and very clean. Super inconvenient parking, we stayed in room 631 with a lovely view of construction and a loud buzzing noise all night long, assuming it could have been the hvac system on the roof. Ordered room service and waited over an hour—burgers were burnt and dry, as were the pommes frites. Incredibly dry and cold, not with sauce that I requested either, so grossly over priced room service for what we received.

Despite the brevity of our visit, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff exuded friendliness and professionalism, consistently greeting us with warm smiles. We took the opportunity to explore a number of local establishments in the vicinity of the hotel, which added to the richness of our experience. The tranquil atmosphere within the hotel was a stark contrast to the bustling environment outside, providing a welcome respite. Upon each entry into the hotel, we were greeted with a palpable European ambiance, a testament to the unique character and charm of the establishment.

Rude front desk staff paid money for breakfast the evening before was charged anyway. The room above us was so loud we did not get any sleep. Watch your bill when it comes out. I will definitely call to be refunded for the over charges. I do not plan on staying at this location again unless the terrible treatment is resolved and composated for.Food & drinks: Not worth the price

Restaurant staff, Bellman, cleaning crew and valet personnel were polite; however, the front desk supervisor did not make me feel valued. I believe for the blue collar workers, most Americans, would likely feel the cost, $350 per night, was not worth the cost. The hotel screamed dollars. For at much as it cost, an individual would think that the hotel would have a nice spread for a complimentary breakfast. Not even close. The Marriott takes about it's care for its guest. This supervisor acted like she didn't care for me and my family. I told her I would put her non-cholant and my concerns for the value on reviews. Only then, she did comp my daughter's and my breakfast. I appreciate that. Breakfast was delicious but the path to get there was unnecessary.
