Ian S. the Manager there kicked us out for having a service animal with an emotional support collar that clearly says Support Animal. He approached us menacingly and stated, “You need to leave! That dog is not a service animal! He is growling at me! That is not a service animal! You need to leave!”Well no kidding - he is growling at you because you are threatening. What a jerk he was to my wife and I. Had to follow us all the way out to the exit too. I’ve been a loyal customer of Menards Terre Haute for 20 years until we moved to Westfield- where they have this long hair , hoola hoop eyed, chicken neck lookin Jive Turkey. I will Never step foot in that pathetic store again, and no don’t both responding with the ol sorry you had a bad experience, please email our manager Ian. Ian obviously has no decency or respect for any customers. Lowe’s don’t bother me about my harmless service dog, and most importantly they offer a military discount and treat you like a human being. Good bye Menards-

5 stars because of 2 very helpful, honest staff members. Tripp helped me find what I needed. Ian found my credit cards’ wallet and kept it in the safe. I was very thankful.

I rented a dolly from this Menards. Admittedly, I was a week late in returning it. I rented it because I was moving to Carmel. I forgot to return it because I was moving on my own that week, getting situated, working full-time, and am a single father. It was an honest accident. It was sitting behind one of the cars in the garage and was kinda out of sight out of mind. Still a mistake.I get a call from the police absolutely berating and being overall disrespectful and rude. They were calling me a thief and saying they were going to arrest me. They talked down to me the whole time and tried to pin me with some rhetorical nonsense. "How come you didn't return it earlier." To which I replied "That's the nature of forgetting."They gave the phone to the rental manager and boy was he smug. He knew he could get me arrested and used that to take that "teacher/authority" tone without me being able to say much else. I was pinned. "You knew it was due last week. No excuses make up for it. It's considered stolen property. Are you going to return today or not? If not, you'll be arrested." By the way, he called me twice that day during which I had 4 hours of back to back meetings. The first call I get after those meetings (before I could even check my voicemail) it was the cops.Whoa. They were ready to ruin someone's life over a $250 dolly which my overdue rental dues were like $100. Ready to arrest customers over $100. I missed an important meeting to run home and return it immediately and pay the late fees. It wasn't a problem at all.Mind you, my previous company spent over $100,000 easily at Menards alone (different location) between 2014-2015. We were renovating a small apartment complex. So I've been a decent customer. This was so humiliating and embarrassing. I wonder if my name popped up on the screen "Juan Lopez" and they immediately thought criminal or something because this a crazy overreaction I think. It would be nice to know how many customers get the cops called on them yearly for something like this and how they choose to call the cops, if they have a policy and if they follow it correctly.I've called and left a few messages and no one has returned my call. I didn't want trouble or legal threats or anything but I wanted to let them know that they went nuclear for no reason, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a prejudiced decision, and how to prevent someone else from going through that.

Wow my 4th time never got any rebate check or nothing. I repost update my info. Now I’ll swear to god I’ll never come back cause they kicked me out due I have a deaf service dog with me training. The dog will let me know when people were behind me and trying to get my attention. A lady was behind me and try get my attention. My dog alerted me. Then said we don’t accept pets. Told her in her face I’ll never come back!

It was brought to our attention at Menards Greyhound Pass the they do not recognize ESA Service Dogs. Ian S the store manager along with three other employees approached my wife as she was leaving the store confronting her and telling her to leave which she was. Although it is his right to deny ESA dogs, the manor in which he insulted, was condescending and dismissed my wife was a perfect example of how not to treat customers. We have alway shopped at Menards, but will no longer. Home Depot and Lowe’s do allow dogs and the staff at both are not rude, but are actually very helpful and have always welcomed our registered ESA Service Dog.So long Menards….

I was very badly discriminated against for being a younger thinner person who needed to use an electric cart. I was sick for the past week, and went in the store and chose an electric cart. DOREEN very rudely shouted at my boyfriend and I from behind the customer service desk, originally starting out with "NO" and as she stood there watching us struggle, she then asks "DO YOU NEED THAT?" All from behind the service desk. If she genuinely cared about me needing help with the cart, she would of came from behind her counter to assist us. But she didn't. This is actually the second time we've had a negative interaction with this employee. She used to work at the 96th street location, but now she decided to bring her bad attitude and below par customer service to this location instead. She easily puts us in a bad mood any time we have to deal with her. I don't like being discriminated against for having a non-visible disability, or for being in an interracial relationship. Please do your customers a service and either fire Doreen, or put her where she's not dealing with customers. She's clearly unfit for her position.

In order for somebody to go to Menards, you have to be a professional in construction, otherwise you will be treated like DOME . The mayority of the workers there, ( and I said the mayority) treat people like dirt when you ask them questions. I was looking for information regarding a bathtub I want to install in my back yard and all I got was the run around and even laugh of two of the associates there.Too bad that a store like that, with the good reputation it has, must depend on KIDS from the block that don’t care about good service.

Won’t go in this store again! I was followed and then told my 7 lbs dog isn’t allowed in the store, turns out she is a service dog, but the cocky ill mannered associate that works there started to question us about it, and I know what he is supposed to ask, that’s not really the problem, the problem was his rude, arrogant attitude toward us! I take my service dog with me every where and no one has ever been so arrogant or rude when they ask about my service animal! Never had any problems in any other menards, or any other store or restaurant! They just lost some business, I’ll take my pup to Lowe’s next time, where they accept every pup!!!

The most poorly run store. Clueless employees are managed by even more clueless manager. Especially the one that was on duty on July, 26th 2023 around 14:25. Will never waste my time or money at any of the menards especially at this one in Carmel. Word of advice: don't touch people 's stuff. Concentrate on service, which obviously sucks.

Kind of wild they hold $350 of your money for 3 to 5 business days for a truck rental that only ends up costing $28. Overall, I have been pleased with this location on various shopping trips, but the truck rental arrangement from a money perspective needs improvement.

Menards is refusing to allow me to make a return on an unopened item that was ordered online - I never even picked it up. As I ordered this vanity, it wasn't clear that Menards could refuse a return on this off-the-shelf product. In fact, the return policy is SO unclear, that I had a Menards associate go through the steps to prove it and even he was unable to find this policy the first time he went through the checkout process. Only on his second attempt did he find the fine print. As a young family doing multiple renovation projects on our home we've spent tens of thousands of dollars in the last two years here, and I have the receipts to prove it. If this doesn't end with some peaceful negotiation and return of the aforementioned product I will never shop at a Menards, and I will pass this on to my kids, and their kids, and so on.At this point, it's not so much about the money, although this will impact our project's budget. Truthfully, this is about my relationship to a store that i've been loyal to. I'll miss all my friends and the help i've received here over the years. If Mr. Menards were still around I'm sure he'd do what he could to keep my business.PS. I'll still come back to spend all my rebate money, BUT THAT'S IT!

We placed an online order for pick up in store for landscape rock that showed in stock. We received the email that says your order is ready for pick up. When we got to the store, we rented one of their trucks to be able to transport the rock, spent 40 minutes in the lumbar yard to get the rock only to find that they had sold it to another customer. Then they would not refund our rental time. Clearly ordering online and being told your order is ready doesn’t actually mean you will get your product. What’s the point of a pickup in store order then? The customer service interactions during the entire ordeal were terrible.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. We showed up at 8am to rent a truck. There posted charges are VERY misleading. They charge mileage and a weekend surcharge so it was over $60 to rent a truck for 1.5 hours. It took us over 30 minutes to get the truck. They tried to give us a truck with no gas. Lowes, Home Depot and UHaul are all cheaper.

This location is listed under pet friendly hardware stores and I was asked to leave with my dog because it is not. I was told it’s because they sell groceries which is false they sell packaged food items not groceries. They need to be taken off the pet friendly list, just another reason I will continue to shop at LOWE’S thx
