February 2024 by Hunter Haygood
To Regal Village Park and those that read this review,As a frequent flyer at movie theaters in the Carmel area, it is easy to say that this might just be one of the worst theaters (if not the worst theater) on the north side of Indianapolis. On Sunday, February 25th, I attended the 4:10 showing of 'Argylle' on screen/in theater #6. During this visit to the theater, I encountered multiple inconveniences that led me to the ultimate decision that I will not be returning to this theater in the future. Please continue to read the following for my reasoning:Reason #1:Walking into the theater, I read the marquee sign that stated "RCC Members - $1 off of ticket purchases". I was thrilled, because I was already on the fence about paying $14 for a single movie ticket on a Sunday afternoon. Once I walked into the movie theater, I purchased my ticket. I asked the employee standing near the kiosk how I could redeem my $1 off coupon for being an RCC member. He had no clue what I was talking about and had the "deer in the headlights" look on his face. So rather than to take more time and ask for additional assistance, I just decided to purchase the ticket without the discount since it was only $1.Reason #2:After I purchased my ticket, I went to the concession stand to get popcorn and a drink. As I approached the counter, I was greeted by what seemed to be a rather distracted and occupied manager. I asked him what the refills would cost on the different popcorn sizes. He said that the only way that you could get a refill is if you purchased a large popcorn. Otherwise, you would have to purchase a new popcorn if you wanted a refill. Me trying to get my moneys worth, I bought the large. This popcorn cost me $10.60. I went ahead and did it because I could get a refill. In my mind, that justified it being the most expensive popcorn that I had ever purchased since I didn't want to spend $8 on a bag of popcorn that was equivalent to the size of a brown paper lunch bag. I also purchased a small drink which was $6.80. This put my concession stand total at $18.98 after tax. Later, I went back to the concession stand to get a refill on my items. However, when I asked for a refill on my drink, I was told that they couldn't do that because I didn't purchase a large drink. I paid $6.80 for a non refillable small drink! For that price, it should have been refillable. Especially when you can purchase a drink at a restaurant for $2-3 and have refills or purchase a large drink at a gas station for less than a dollar. Luckily, the employee was decent enough to fill my cup with water because he sympathized with me on the price of the drink and how much the theater is taking advantage of their customers. Especially when rules and stipulations behind refills are not listed anywhere around the concession stand or on the menu.Because I'm running out of space, reasons #3-5 will be simplified:Reason #3:Theater/screen #6 (and others, I'm sure) needs some updating or repairs. The sound for the movie was very poor quality.Reason #4:The manager from reason #2 needs to learn theater etiquette and enforce it in his theaters. He came to visit friends in the theater and spoke to them on the opposite side of the theater in a normal noise level. It was definitely friends because I could hear the entire conversation.Reason #5:Modernize, update, and maintain the theater. We pay enough to be there, so money shouldn't be the issue. The lights on the exterior of the building have been off for the past two months. As I mentioned, these are the reasons that I will not be returning to Regal Village Park. Not when I can go three minutes down the road to a dinner movie theater and purchase my ticket at the same time for $9, have bottomless popcorn for $4, and a drink at a normal drink price. Not to mention, not having interruptions from a manager during a movie, have properly functioning sound, and sitting in a modern theater. There is no reason why my total for the whole experience and for one person should've came

The screen is disappointingly small, and there are too many seats. The seats are uncomfortable, tiny, and there's hardly any space in front of each row to sit properly. If you're over 5 feet tall, it's just not for you, it's as simple as that

TEACH YOUR KIDS THEATER ETIQUETTE!!!!The staff is amazing, the movie was amazing (when you could actually hear it), the seats were okay (personally, I think they need to update seating, but I know staff has no control, but corporate, come on!!!), but the kids in the theater made the movie experience absolutely awful. This review is to remind parents that your kids should not be left unsupervised at the theater. The employees and other movie goers are not your babysitters, and if your kids should know to be quiet during a movie. We had candy thrown at us (and the people around us) and a bunch of kids who would not stop talking. At the climax of the movie, you couldn’t hear a single thing happening because of all the commotion these kids were causing. I’ve been to plenty of movies where kids were in the theater and have never had to tell any kids to be quiet. Before the movie could even be finished, I left to say something to the manager. When I got to speak to the manager, she was so sweet and understanding. I wanted to make her aware of how kids were acting and hopefully help others with their movie experience. She ended up giving us two free tickets and an extra novelty box. Her and the other manager who gave us our drinks before the movie are the reason why we will be coming back. We already had tickets to see another movie, now we have an incentive to come back and I hope I can personally thank them again!

Waiting for the day someone else purchases this location so it can be improved. Walking in feels like the dollar movie theaters that used to be off Washington Street growing up. It has that Comic Con smell to the place (musky) probably due to the carpets that need a deep clean or replaced as they look like from the 90's. The bonus is the place is NEVER busy so you don't have to worry about a line.Doesn't compare at all to any AMC movie theater let alone the Regal Movie Theater downtown Indianapolis, which is a let down because its located in Westfield/Carmel which is in a much nicer area. The look and feel between the 2 places feels like atleast 20 years. But if you can't watch at home this place will do the trick.

Regal is our go to theater. There’s no line usually at the ticket counter and we find the self help kiosk so helpful and quick. The concession stand is well maintained and like any other theater the popcorn and drink is definitely expensive. $20 for a large popcorn and Pepsi,The seats are clean in the theater and the sound effects are great. The carpet does need deep cleaning, there’s a weird misty smell that throws me off. Knocking 1* off for that. There’s a small hall for kids birthday parties which I thought was very cute. There was a party going on when I had visited Regal on another occasion.Parking is extensive and well maintained with very friendly customer service otherwise.

So disappointed didn’t go to see the movie. The Regal check in process for reserved seating is absolutely atrocious. In a half empty theatre 20 minutes prior to the showtime start the check in seat selection demands you cannot leave an empty seat on either side! What the heck?!!! You are forced to have to sit next to somebody in a have empty theater?!!! Absolutely asinine and not customer centric at all.

After going to Noblesville Regal, which we love and is updated and staff friendly. There was no communication with any staff.. couldn't find any! Seats uncomfortable and the whole place needs updating!

Always a good experience here. I only gave it a 4 star because it could use some sprucing up. It's not by any means but so many theaters have the reclining seats or offer dinner while watching the movie. And still the prices are no cheaper. Still a good time.

Kinda dirty and outdated. Smelled weird throughout. Seats are just generic seats, nothing special and not comfortable. Speakers sounded horrible in the theater we were in. Lobby is tiny and crowded. Overall, it gets the job done, but definitely not my first pick when looking for a movie, needs some updating.

It's just gone downhill. From the marquee to the theaters. No real attention to cleaning. The candy is really odd choices. The staff is nice. It is in a decent location and I feel safe. It is an option for us but not the preferred option.

This location has a real family oriented atmosphere. The employees are very courteous and meet you at the door. This location is very clean. I would rank this location as one of the better places to watch movies.

This place is musty. The seats feel dirty. The auditorium itself was dirty with trash all over the floor and stairs. Not to mention, it was humid inside with no ax. The seats don’t even recline and the whole place is just musty crusty. Go to AMC. I feel gross

This is a very sad theater. It’s outdated, and it’s dirty. Unfortunately I thought to try it since it’s the closest to my house. Regrets at an all time high. I paid a dollar more to sit in a grimy, dirty, freezing, stinky theater- when I could have went to Emagine and had my buns toasted while lounging in a cuddle recliner. This was unfortunate, and I will not return to a blast in the past to 2002.
