My mom went here like we usually do and was called fat. I don't care if it was a staff or just someone shopping. Be better people. Extra stars is for how often we go here and the fact that there usually is nice people!

They seem understaffed..It's huge mess. Items are scattered in carts. It looks as though some may have given up. Aboned half started projects everywhere. The same ? boxes have been sitting on dollies for weeks, possibly longer. Some staff friendly, others not so much.

Absolutely impossible to get ahold of anyone here. If you know someone that is within the building, good luck getting ahold of them via mobile device. All signal is blocked within those walls. (Honestly, I feel like that should be illegal, especially in some cases to where someone needs to be contacted by their work or family with special care or needs.)

The staff is great but with only 2 employees there is only so much they can do. The aisles are full of U carts full of boxes from trucks to be put away. Customers can’t bring carts in even if they want to as there is no space anywhere to go through. Its not a particular day it happens but everyday from so many weeks. Employees have to work on register and stock the shelfs. Don’t know why dollar general can’t afford to hire more employees.

Went here last week and the store is super clean and organized. Found exactly what I wanted. The manager is super nice and very courteous. She is doing a spectacular job keeping the place up and running smoothly. The lady cashier was very nice and helpful. I will be going here from now on.

Cashier was extremely rude. Both times I’ve come here I’ve had the same cashier and he’s rude to not only me but everyone else.

Love how close and convenient the location is, however I believe that they are understaffed and overworked in this store. Person at the register has to run back and forth from stocking shelves to cashing people out. The store shelves are always half empty and bins blocking the isles. Maybe higher ups need to come help these poor overworked employees get caught up and get the store organized.

Hours say they are open, see employees inside and when you knock, they just completely ignore you.

The store itself was convient and clean, however, employee Natalie was not so friendly. Prior to my checkout a man had been rung up for batteries that were not his (turns out they were set there by another employee and accidentally ring up in his order). The man politely let Natalie know that they were not his and she appeared annoyed and began saying "well they were here, do you know whose they might be" in a very accusatory tone. The man seemed taken back a bit and said "no I don't, they were here and there was no one in checkout in front of me either". Okay, now it's my turn to check out. I let Natalie know that I have two transactions (buying for my disabled brother). I realized I had tape in my cart that I did not need because I had found the correct tape in a different isle and forgot to put the other back. I let Natalie know, "oh I apologize, I don't need this tape I ended up finding what I needed in another isle". She stared at me visibly annoyed/angered, took the tape, and didn't say a word. I went to pay and the screen displayed "no CB" as an option I asked what "CB" was (not used to seeing it displayed this way). She informed me it was cash back, but I did not hear her, so she repeated herself, but the entire time you could visibly see, feel, and hear her annoyance within her voice. Bad day perhaps? I'm unsure, but the way she was acting was very off-putting and uncomfortable. It's a small part of someone's day, but it was highly unenjoyable.

The store is 80° inside and a cool 65° outside. The employees can't change the thermostat and can't prop open the doors due to company policy. So much for corporate caring about their employees let alone customers close to passing out while shopping! Think of your employees and customers for once, corporate!!! You may have more eager shoppers in a comfortable climate with happy comfortable employees, you think?

I love the NEW location in Chesterton very close to house very friendly helpful staff BUT these POOR employees should have control over the temp in the building. I was in the building last week & it was 89 degrees & AGAIN today again 84 degrees! Store is hotter inside than outside! This is not FAIR to the employees nor the customers! Especially with mask wearing can't breathe! If corp is going to "Control" the temp in store then @ least make it comfortable for employees & customers. I am a District Manager & would NEVER have my employees work in humid AIR like that. We can do "BETTER"!

This is the cleanest, biggest, best Dollar Store I have ever seen!!! The staff is friendly and helpful. This store has such a variety of grocery, housewares, stationary and apparel like a small Walmart. This DG is head and shoulders above the rest!

They're always stocked up with hot cheetoes, basically the only thing I ever buy, and its close enough to walk to but far enough its a workout.
