Hours: Bartholomew County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter in a beautiful, well-kept, large building out in the country. The shelter genuinely cares for the pets under their care, providing all needed vaccinations and medical interventions. Staff are friendly, courteous, very nice, very informative, and helpful. They are upfront about all questions regarding their animals. The shelter has a great walking crew for the dogs, though more walkers are needed. They are often booked to capacity but still do a great job. The organization is supportive of community efforts like benefit rides, actively helping to set up events. The public is encouraged to adopt, foster, and donate supplies such as cleaning items and milk replacement for kittens.
