Columbus Optical is an amazingly professional company ! I discussed my reading problem with my progressive lenses, and John Oliver explained their different lenses where the location of near vision field can be adjusted. I was able to use my existing frame and did not have to leave it with the store until the new lenses arrive. They electronically scan the frame, and grind the lenses to fit the frame in house.John also replaced the loose screws on my frame. Their prices are very reasonable, and seniors get a discount.Columbus Optical is truly a professional company that provides outstanding customer service.

Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. At 77 years old, I have been going to eye doctors since I turn 2 and this is my best optical exam experience ever.

A customer for years. I went in to get my records since the one doctor had retired. I'm told he took the records with him? Wait those are MY records not his. No notice of his retirement to come in and get your records. Just a letter to the editor reliving his history and the next day he disappears. Took the records with him. Now as someone with an eye disease I have to start all over. I went in to discuss and after a few minutes dancing around I was told that it sure is a bummer. More like unethical. I don't care how many decades they have been in business that is some of the poorest service I've received anywhere.

Great group of people . I have put off getting new glasses for a long time. My glasses broke so knew I needed to get a new pair. When I called for an appointment the receptionist was friendly and very helpful and got me in the next day. I get very anxious when my glasses are not working correctly so I was frustrated when I arrived but the technician doing the testing and the receptionist were knowledgeable and extremely kind and friendly . The doctor was quiet through most of the exam but when he was done he explained everything in detail and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was the last patient of the day and the staff did not try and rush through my appointment and none of the staff made me feel like they were in a hurry to get me out of there. The man who helped me choose glasses was so helpful in explaining everything . We are fortunate to have Columbus Optical in our great city and especially the wonderful staff! Thank you for your help and friendliness !

I owe an apology to Columbus optical. I thought there was something wrong with the last two pairs of glasses I purchased. The bifocals seemed high and was making me dizzy and seemed off. To my lack of knowledge which now makes me feel so dumb. I did not realize the nose piece was adjustable until the gentleman adjusted at Columbus Optical. Now I am so happy I can see!

I love this place except for their mandate to either get dilation or the optomap of your eye during your visit. **read further down this review**The receptionist uses terminology "its to protect the doctors license" but upon further researched this is a blatant lie. I think Its a manipulation tactic to get you to pay for services insurance won't cover outside of what a $10-$20 eye exam costs. **dilation is covered per the receptionist**"Prescription Only?Dr. William Barlow of the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center notes, “Dilation isn’t always required. In fact, if you are seeing your eye doctor solely to get a prescription, dilation induces potential changes to a prescription that aren’t present in the normal state of the eye when the iris/pupil is not dilated. Of course, it’s always important to dilate if we want to do a complete exam of the retina.”This has always been a thing with this place (ever since I have been a kid), but, if you don't mind being bullied into getting one or the other - then they do great eye-glasses in-house.I was seen last time without dilation and I WILL NOT pay for services outside of what insurance covers and you shouldn't either!

Was ready to buy a nice pair of sunglasses today. However, I was refused service because I did not have a mask. Next time, make sure you practice what you preach. The girl at the front desk had hers below her chin. I'll stick with my cheapos.

I would not recommend this office. My daughter wants colored contacts, and we went to the eye doctor just a few months ago. They will not write a prescription for them without a $65 office visit!!! We can order contacts with the prescription we have for the next year, but they won't allow colored ones without an appointment. They would need to remeasure her eyes. Whatever... everything is about the money!!I also had a hard time adjusting to multifocal lenses, and the doctor told me it would take some time to get it adjusted correctly. After trying some combination of contacts, someone called from there and told me if this set didn't work that they were more or less done with me because my brain wasn't responding. It was responding, but I just wanted to make sure I got the right combination of contacts since both eyes are different, and this is my eyesight!! Who wouldn't want to make sure it was as close to perfect as they can get. I was quite offended by the way they worded the message they left, and made to feel as if I were stupid.
