March 2024 by Dede F.
I joined Farrell's (FXB) Columbus, IN in January 2020 for a 10 week fitness challenge. My physical fitness had declined after my 12 year old nephew was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2019. (He's 17 and thriving now!). A coworker invited me to do the 10 week challenge, and I'm so grateful that she did. I had been a member of other gyms in the past, and was so intimidated to be joining a new gym in such bad shape. I was greeted with smiling faces, people wanting to know my name and lots of support from everyone there (not just the owners and instructors). I've been to multiple class times and have found each one to be welcoming! When the pandemic shut the world down, Farrell's adapted by selling exercise band kits as they began to offer virtual training options. I continued on as a fit member through the virtual trainings and for some time after being able to go back in person. Life presented some obstacles in late 2021-early 2022 and I fell off track. Luckily for me, Farrell's offered a recharge program as a way for former fit members to come back in the fall of 2022. I needed to start a serious training program to be ready to hike the Grand Canyon in March of 2023, so I signed up and got back on track. I don't love getting up at 4:30am to get to the 6am class on my clinic work days, but I do love how I feel after (and I do love seeing all of the members of my 6am fit family on those mornings). My long term fitness goal at 55 is functional independence (going to the restroom on my own) for as many years as I can. My short term fitness goals include hiking and backpacking. I love the kickboxing classes, but found I NEEDED the strength training classes. Balance and strength have been of paramount importance in the completion of many bucket list hikes I've done in the last 2 years, including Angel's Landing in Zion, Grand Canyon (to the bottom and out), Mt LeConte and Mt Cammerer in Smoky Mountains, Grandfather's Mountain in NC, Tea House hike in Banff, Iceburg Lake and Highline in Glacier, and Half Dome in Yosemite, I've also started backpacking, doing 30-35 miles in a weekend trip. My favorite quote comes from a Farrell's shirt I bought stating "I want to see what happens if I don't give up". I encourage you to join a 10 week challenge to see what's possible, because I guarantee that you are worth the money, the time and the effort!

Great place to transform. You will be able to push yourself, both physically and mentally with the help of more than one trainer at all times. Everyone comes with a goal of improving themselves and the collective vibe of the place is just amazing. You will be body scanned which will help you have statistics about your body and make better and informed decisions to deal with your transformation. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend joining FXB for anyone who is willing to shape themself.

I came into FX, without ever being inside a gym before. So had no idea on what any of the terms or terminologies associated with the fitness business and its users might be. I have been with FX for 5 months now and can definitely say that they have helped given me a purpose - be healthy for myself, and helped me be on my way to that goal. Thank you for the structure each day, for the options on the classes timings, for the in class mentors, for the coaches and last but not least for watching out for me.

Farrell’s has quickly become my second home. I moved to Columbus from Texas about a year ago not knowing barely anybody and I was searching for a place to meet people and hopefully find an outlet for my health and fitness. I found that and so much more within Farrell’s Columbus. Scott and Lyndsey are some of the most caring and humble owners of a gym I’ve ever met. They truly care about their members first more than anything else. The instructors and coaches are phenomenal. This place is more than just a gym or a community, it’s like family. No judgements and everyone is there supporting each other. If you’re looking for an instructor led gym to become part of something more than just working on your health, this is the place for you!

I have loved my experience at FXB Columbus! The instructors are good at pushing you at the right time, being encouraging, and being friendly. I’ve lost fat and gained muscle, while enjoying pushing myself and seeing other succeed. I would recommend it to anyone.

I love FXB. The supportive, family-like atmosphere is the best I've ever had at any gym. It doesn't matter what size you are, you can make the workout as intense as you want. Just keep moving! Move on over to FXB and join the fun. You will not regret it!

I joined FXB 4 months back and I have to say it’s been an incredible experience since day 1. Both Scott and Lyndsey along with rest of the coaches are super friendly and helpful. The gym has exceeded my expectations in a lot of different ways and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join FXB.

I've been lucky to be a part of the gym family at FXB Columbus for 10 years and counting. The workouts are always challenging and the friendships made here serve as encouragement to show up, to work hard, and to keep the fun going in social media chats and hangouts beyond the gym. I highly encourage anyone to come join us and have fun while making improvements in your life!

FXB is not just a gym but an amazing place that empowers you to take control of your own health. Also, the owners are amazing and truly care about their members by listen to each one of them. Truly recommend anyone trying fxb.

Farrell’s is definitely a great place to workout. quick 45 minute workouts that are actually effective without you requiring to spend tons of time in the gym. It is more than just a gym and has some really great instructors who are always willing to help improve, motivate, and work with you in achieving your goals.

Best place in Bartholomew County for accountability and tough workouts. I love my gym and the family I inherited when I started my fitness journey there in 2015. I have a tremendous sense of belonging here. Attending class if probably my favorite time of my day.
