I was looking for supplies to finish a quilt. Everything I needed happened to be on sale! Nice, clean, well-stocked store. Kind and friendly staff.

I have consistently gotten bad experiences every time I visit Joann Fabric in Columbus, IN, because the staff is displeasing and it is obvious that they do not carry about the needs of the customer. The staff member who “helped” me today say that she didn’t know about what I needed and quickly returned to surf her smartphone and left me alone to ponder.I believe that this consistency of bad service is an issue of culture in the store. I hope that I don’t need to go back again.

Small store that doesn't have as much of a selection as other craft stores around or even other Joann stores in a 30-45 minute drive. Prices online and in store are frequently different (cheaper online). I've found it's best to order curbside to save money on the few things I buy here.

Depends on who's working. I've been in a few times recently and one time exceeded my expectations. The cashier was super friendly and helped me get a better deal with the online coupons they had out at the time, wasn't in a rush or annoyed like how other times have been. I'd prefer to be left alone to shop for the most part, but when an employee takes the time to ask me if I need help or if I'm finding what I need then I assume they have another 2 min to point me- in the very least- to the area I need to be in. But telling me they just don't carry it or don't have it (for example, An upholstery needle. It was 2 aisles over) isn't how you make new customers come back. If I can get what I need at Hobby Lobby, I'd rather go there first, but my general needs usually aren't fabric or sewing related, so I can't attest to their selection in that area.
