Horrible service.When I picked up the car they handed me the keys but didn’t know where it was parked. I had to wander the lot to find the vehicle that reacted to the key fobI turned it in at 5:00 am on Sunday and put the keys and rental agreement in the lock drawer. They haven’t processed my return and keep emailing me to turn in the vehicle. I called the main Avis customer service number and they said it’s still showing as not turned in. Frustrating. It’s back to Hertz for me.

Wish I had an option to use another company. Even with only 2 people in line this place always takes at least an hour of waiting to get a car. How is this so hard?

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The supervisor & the girl sitting at the front desk are useless & have horrible manners. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!! They were not helpful even being sent here by their corporate team.

Made reservation. No cars available at pickup time. Will avoid using Avis at all costs from now on. Not to mention the previous time I rented from Avis, I had to prove the car was returned. Received several threatening demand letters. Took over an hour on the phone multiple times to clear up issue.

I would leave zero stars if I could. I was supposed to pick up my car at 9. It’s now after 10:30 and I’m still waiting in line. There is one employee working and she spent an hour pulling cars. Hire more help or take on less reservations. My travel plans are all delayed now and will be missing my appointment that I flew in for.

If I could give "0" I would. Had to swap cars due to ac (Lexus RX 350) and fan not working and was told by customer service that an equivalent car is available for exchange at Evansville Airport that day (1 hour away from where I was staying). I arrived around 7:13 pm on Jul 3rd, 2023. The customer service rep was not at the counter. He left a note saying that I needed to call a number because he was "washing cars". We waited for about 15 minutes before he arrived. He was quite unfriendly and dismissive upon his arrival. He then proceeded to notify me that there were no cars available except a minivan or a ford escape. I chose the minivan because we have alot of things to take with us (we're here for my husband's mom's funeral). He then said that it wasn't available. The lot was filled with cars that were clean and he stated that there were no clean cars. I opened some of the SUVs and they were indeed clean. I called him because he again disappeared from the counter and he stated that there were no cars. I felt discriminated, alone in a place I am unfamiliar with and given a car that had 80,000 miles, smelled badly and was alot smaller than what I had prepaid for. I called the general customer service number and they stated that they couldn’t do anything. I have been a loyal budget customer and I just wanted the same car or equivalent to what I prepaid for. I also asked to just cancel the reservation so I can rent another car from elsewhere and he stated that I would then be charged a "one way" fee. I had no choice but to take the ford escape because of the sweltering heat and the fact that he had already left meant that I had no one to talk to. The location says that it closes at 11:00 pm. He was not there and I think he was using"washing cars" as an excuse to not be at the counter. Something needs to be done about this because when you read the reviews, it seems to be a common occurrence.

Horrid, trashy company. We had a reservation for months for a van for a family trip with a 14 hr drive with 8 family members. We arrived to pick up the van after numerous confirmation phone calls and emails. Nothing was amiss in the least. We went to pick up the van and...An apathetic child with headphones on, playing on his phone, said that they didn't have a van and offered no apology or solution. He said they cancelled the reservation. Completely ruined a family trip with no apology, explanation, or solution. I am flabbergasted. Unbelievable. Thanks Avis for ruining our trip. Your company is the worst-as bad as it gets.

Out flight was late and we arrived after closing. I tried to call the desk but only got the call center, the call center said they should stay open if flights are delayed. We waited for 20-30 minutes at the counter but no one showed up. There was a phone number to call but no one every answered. There was at least ten other people waiting. Zero stars. I would have rented Hertz if there was one at this airport.

Unbelievably rude front desk. Would not honor my online reservation, and the employee walked off. I went to National Rental next booth over, and was told they have heard a lot of similar complaints of this Avis. Really sad, and bad for everyone.

Horrible Horrible customer service by Gage Jackson. Arrived at 2:50 to return a rental that had mechanic problems from Indianapolis to pick up another car to drive to Atlanta. Upon receipt the bill was 20% more than original price at pick up. Upon questioning the agent, Gage, explain there was nothing in his control and to call customer service. Called customer service and they immediately change to the original price well gauge put up a sign and went out to his car at 3:30 PM. Other people come to rent vehicles, he came back in, rented vehicles to them and then put up a sign he was out to lunch and again went to his car while I was trying to rent a vehicle from him after having two confirmation numbers. Real smirky attitude and did not give two cents whether I as a customer were happy or not. Had to rent from enterprise (5pm), the counter next door after having two reservations and confirmation numbers and vehicle with problems from Indianapolis.

Worst experience in the car rental 2 consecutive time.1st time: Booked the rental on 24th for 26th Dec (00853483US1) and went to the airport to pick it up.1st response: "I don't see your reservation".2nd response: "I see it now, did you booked today?3rd response: "Even though you booked earlier, I only got it today and I don't have a car. "It all felt like, Avis representative DON'T WANT TO WORK WITH ME at all. So I don't have any option other than just leave. It sounded like, that's exactly what the person wanted.So now, I rescheduled my trip to next week. I booked and paid for the Standard SUV (00910245US0) and went to the pick it up. The same person behind the counter. Same unwelcoming gestures, this time they had a car.So I signed the doc, got the key and went to pick up and noticed, its a compact SUV and its DIRTY (1st CAR), I walked back to the counter and told them its compact and I booked standard SUV. No, "We don't have anything other than that. All I have is sedan."Switched it to the sedan, picked a Ford Fusion Hybrid, went to the car to find it, it had SMOKE SMELL (2nd CAR) and I couldn't even sit it that car. Once again went back, informed about the smell. The girl in the counter was going to chance the car right away, but the guy whom I am working with all along, asked her to hold. Made me wait until he finish off with the customer he was working with and took his time to pack all the keys I returned and gave the other sedan Malibu.At this point of time, I just want to get away from there. Got into the car and started driving, turned on the heater and it is SMOKED as well (3rd CAR). Couldn't drive but at the same time I don't want to go back and get treated LESS THAN A HUMAN.So opened all the windows (during the December month) and drive the car home. No way I can drive this car for 5 hours tomorrow, so planning to go back to the Avis rental tomorrow morning and hoping this time I will see a representative who would like to work with every customer and deliver the product for which they paid for with respect.If not, I will just return the car and come home.May be, it's not the problem with the representative, it may be1. They DON'T have SINGLE CAR which is CLEAN and SMOKE Free.2. May be they didn't TRAIN the representative for the JOB.3. May be they never face the consequence for this type of behavior in the past, so IT IS OK to be this way.If you expect value for the money & respect you need to find a different rental company at least in Evansville airport.

First time and last time using Avis, especially Evansville location. Rented a car in Louisville as flight was diverted to SDF. Rented car to get to EVV so I could pick up my personal vehicle as I flew out of EVV. Dropped off car 3 hours later to a kid behind the counter that was more interested in his phone and headphones. A week later, car is not processed, no receipt and now I see they are trying to charge me for a week rental. Time to get my corporate travel involved on this one. Never again, I'll sleep overnight in airport before using AVIS.

This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. They charged us for just about every wrong charge one could have on a on a rental agreement. From “miscellaneous charges” to fuel charges that we didn’t use, to an entire extra day when we had returned the car four hours after initially renting it, you name it it happened. No one at the counter will answer the phone no matter what time of day you call. The phones do not ring therefore the people working at the counter either do not see the phone call come through or just simply choose not to answer it. That said, you are required to go through the corporate one 800 number to resolve any issues, which unfortunately we had to use no less than seven times. Any given call was a hold time from 10 to 20 minutes. Again, worst car rental experience I’ve ever had.

Our flight to Evansville was changed to where we were going to end up getting in past the 7pm closing time. My wife called many hours before and spoke to Avis National even though she dialed the Avis Evansville number. The person she spoke to ensured with our confirmed reservation she would make certain that she would inform the Evansville Avis about our later arrival and that someone would be available to get us our rental car. They would not leave until the last customer got their rental we were told. Well, our flight got in at 8:30pm on time and no one was at the Avis desk. Wife called again and they tried to see if there was another Avis in the area that was open. The staff at Enterprise in the next booth over said that they aren't coming back until tomorrow but we could check to see if any of the contracts on the wall were ours. Of course they weren't. My wife got tired of Avis and thankfully we got a full refund. We went to Enterprise who were able to assist us but at a cost of $200 over what we intended to pay for the original rental at Avis. We needed a car, and had to take the hit for the last minute rental. Not happy one bit with Avis. If you have a flight that gets in past 7pm, don't bother with Avis at Evansville. I'm also ticked that the National hotline said they'd help us out but it certainly doesn't look like they did anything. All I get from Avis now are a bunch of emails trying to get my business.

Customer service was great at checkout and turn in. I was told an email would be sent with my receipt, it never came. This may have been a program issue so I tried calling 4-5 times over 3 days during their advertised business hours and no one ever picked up. I had to contact corporate and be placed on hold for 10 minutes to be told they'd call back within 30 minutes. 2 hours later I got a phone call and a receipt. Again, customer service was GREAT. The two ladies at the desk were beyond nice.
