Banfield Pet Hospital’s “wellness plan” is a complete scam. The front receptionist and staff at the physical location were able to take my payment info and sign me up for the plan, but when I wanted to cancel the plan, they claimed to be powerless to do so.Long story short, the veterinarian failed to recognize my dog’s tooth abscess, and delayed him getting appropriate antibiotic therapy (ultimately surgery as well). Calling the customer service line left me on hold for 6+ hours and greeted with sarcastic representatives.

Everyone was super friendly, but the services were less than ideal. My cat has been acting sick, and I was told and charged that they would need to send a fecal sample off to have examined. This was two weeks ago and I have not heard anything back yet on if anything was found.

Update: Someone reached out to me to attempt to resolve this issue and basically informed me that she is sorry i feel the way i do. I told her not to apologize for my emotions and to instead fix the unethical sales practice of her staff. This place is a nightmare. The ONLY concern with this hospital is whether or not you are willing to enter into a contractual agreement with them. They try to guilt trip you as though if you don't that you don't care about the wellness of your pet. I only requested to have my cat neutered. The agreement they want me to enter is $1200!!! Not including the price of medicine and the $58 per visit!! This place is a joke and I am furious that I even brought my pet here to begin with! Worst animal care I've ever seen. The people are so sales driven they don't have time to care about your pet. And they make you drop them off and leave them! I want to know what care is happening with my pet. I left so upset that I wasted my time and money and now have to find SOMEWHERE ELSE to take him that will actually care about him.

We take our pets to Banfield (2 dogs, 4 cats). They have provided all of their care for over 5 years. We have Optimal Wellness Plans for all of them and love the service that comes with those plans. They adapted to Covid so quickly and continued to provide excellent care and service. I love hearing from the doctor after each visit for a detailed explanation of their visit and answers to all my questions. We never have a problem getting an appointment when we have a concern and they keep us on track with reminders for routine care. We are thankful for the way Dr. B, Dr. Satterfield, Dr. Griese, and all of the support staff love and care for our furry family.

Very very expensive, and for years money you pat you DO NOT get moneys worth. The package wellness includes a neuter so had my male puppy neutered and they called and said he'll need a cone and pain meds and that's 30$ wow really I'm paying $200 down and $73 a month for what? And they don't want the owner to stay with the pet, leave yem and come back to get them. I don't like that I wa na know what they fo and how they treat tem.

I had a payment plan here for a year and will never bring an animal here again. I've had them lose my dog one time and ended up waiting for an hour before they took her and waited an hour and a half before the could find her. The next visit after this I had to take me new pup in for an exam and my other dog in for another issue I went and had a coupon for a free exam well the lady up front was extremely rude even after I told her I had got it from the corporate and on top of that they said my other dog had dental issues even though she had went in a month prior for a dental cleaning and she was given a clean bill of health then. Now this time I call and ask about getting motion sickness meds for my puppy and they tell me I have to pay for another exam with a different vet because the one that examined him was on medical leave (he had an exam less than 3 months prior). I've been given different pricing on a surgery for my dog then on top of that the vet told me the wrong course of action to take to treat it. This company is nothing but money hungry and doesn't care about the animals at all.

Love this place! Our old vet was going to give my cat a teeth cleaning but I cancelled due to a bad feeling. Brought my cat here and they found he had a heart murmur and cannot undergo anesthesia. This place is awesome. Workers are wonderful. Someone named Sarah wrote my other cat who has UTIs a month script for his food bc our old vet wouldn’t till we got vaccines, yet they couldn’t get us in for weeks. I’m thankful for this vet and for how knowledgeable and kind everyone is! It’s such a great feeling knowing your fur babies are in good hands :)

Took new-ish pup here just to establish service and to check why he was itching. Was able to book an appointment for one week out (as opposed to all the other vets I called who said they're not accepting new "patients"). We showed up at the appointed time and they led pup off to be examined...which I thought was odd as I would have preferred to be present during examination (as with every other pet we've had). Regardless, after about 20 minutes out comes pup and the vet. He explained pup has allergic dermititis (very common) and suggested a $60 shot (good for up to 2 months). Anyway, entire visit was $160 and pup has already stopped itching so well worth the trip. We're happy with the speed of getting an appointment and the service. We would have preferred a local, independent vet but since they're not taking new business...oh well.

Well let me start off with this I didn't like to drop off Service. my cat seemed to be fine without me. he had some skin issues and they were able to get me in the day after I called. He was back there in about an hour they came and talked to me explained everything to me. they were very patient with me I like to ask a lot of questions. Within 24 hours my cat was acting like his old self! And I love the payment plan that they have which really helps a lot. All in all my experience was excellent!

What i have a problem with is the way i was treated. I tried to relay to the front desk that i had shattered my foot and have been off work. Well, my dog in a matter of a day, went from looking like he hurt his back, to losing all coordination. So now im watching him decline and suffer, because no one in this town, including Banfield, will work with me on payments. I would have been fine, if i just wouldn't have shattered my foot. But no one cares. They told me about Princeton and Gibson county vet right away! What about the wellness plans? What about the fact that you have all the places that help with vet bills, but you DONT HONOR THOSE!!?? Now, am i crazy!? Because i thought, since it was on your page, you'd honor that? Didn't even want to hear anything else. Just sent me on down the road. Well your loss Banfield! I have 3 animals i indulge because they are my kids. They get money before i spend money so you missed out on a future lifer. I would have purchased, once im working, which will be in like a week, all your wellness plans, but you had to judge. I trained to be a Vet Tech, i almost came to work for you, glad i didn't. Now i will tell everyone i know, and everyone they know, about how you preach one thing, and do another. And how you let my senior dog writhe in pain and probably die when he could have been fixed, over money! Shame on you!

Nice caring vet and staff who went the extra mile for my aging cat and me. Thank goodness for a walk-in clinic where you can get care on short notice without paying a huge fee before even being seen. Thanks again, Dr. John and staff.

When I got my dog, I called around for quotes on puppy shots and future appointment requirement quotes, such as boarding shots and spay/neuter fees.I made the mistake of going elsewhere for the first shots after finding a special offer for about $60 total for all required...but later ended up walking out of that appointment with an almost $400 bill. Eek. That place charged almost $50 for one shot, that I thought was included in the $60 quote. Nope. If that wasnt enough, that office double charged on the take home meds, and to date, claims not to know how to issue a refund on a card. Seemed like the ole bait and switch special to get everyone in business on one day, and amongst the packed mess, they rip you off while there.Thankfully, I put that chaos behind me and signed up my dog for a Banfields wellness plan. It really has been a hassle free experience thus far, and the staff seem really good at their jobs.I've made my appointments online, or on the phone, have dropped off my pet to go about my business until they call me for pickup; I have continued all of the dogs required shots at Banfield - plus got boarding shots, got my pet dna tested, have had 3 appointment visit exams, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, got my pets fixed, and despite needing to pay an initial wellness plan fee...I still have not, months later, spent the amount I wasted at the other vets office. When I look over my receipt and see everything I would have had to pay if I wasnt on a plan, it is huge savings, and even if not on a plan, compared to other quotes I got, it is still a good deal.I will keep my dogs on Banfields wellness plan. It has been worth it for me.
