I had a 2011 f150 transmission rebuilt here last year. When I picked it up and took off home it grinned from 3rd to 4th gear. They said it was do to fresh rebuild. The transmission never stopped and eventually went out again 11 months later. I wouldn't take it back to this place. I'll take the loss. Please go elsewhere

The transmission on my 2017 GMC 2500HD, 6.0 gasoline engine, failed at 55,000 miles. A friend recommended Do It Right Transmission, who did a rebuild on my unit along with an upgrade on the torque converter that will prevent recurrence. They did a great job on the rebuild and honored their initial quote.. Kevin Sensmeier (owner) and Ray Holden (service manager) do a great job of communicating during the repair and instill a great deal of confidence in their work. Highly recommend.

Time and time again customers put false information against Do It Right Transmission. Customers rarely put things in their reviews that are truthful while they are conducting business with Do It Right Transmission. We at Do It Right Transmission do our best, to go above and beyond for every customer that walks through the door.

Outstanding professionalusm with a touch of “you’re a part of the family now!”
Kevin and his team came to the rescue on a recent visit I had in Evansville. I had just driven from Colorado to see my family, And when I had stopped for my final gas fill up in south east Missouri my truck check engine light came on, it kept shifting into overdrive on its own and panic ensued! Called my Uncle Dave (A retired master mechanic in Evansville) and asked what do I do??
After a quick diagnosis at a local Missouri O’Reilly’s and almost 3.5 hrs from EVV, the tech and Uncle Dave said I would be good to drive to Evansville. And as soon as I got there, Uncle Dave took me to Do It Right transmissions to meet Kevin. Once he took a look at my truck he determined that it was the solenoid block and was able to start working on it that afternoon.
The work was done quickly, and I had my vehicle back within a couple of days, And now my 11 year year-old truck with over 125,000 miles runs like she’s brand new.
Cannot thank Kevin and his team enough for the quick and quality work they provided at a reasonable price. Hoping I don’t have to replace any more solenoid blocks, or heaven forbid a transmission, anytime soon… But if I did, and if I were in Evansville, I’d absolutely go to Do It Right Transmissions.

Best experience Ive had with getting work done. Haven't had an issue they couldn't figure out yet. Also reasonably priced. Very knowledgable shop. Great owners. Great work.

Good prices compared to others in the area! Very communicative and efficient in their work. Good and honest people. I’ve gotten oil changes, brakes, and alignments done and never been disappointed. Wouldn’t trust anywhere else with my vehicle!

TRANS NOT FIXED, $1500 DAMAGE DONE
I had a transmission rebuilt here in 1/21. It slipped on the way home and they said it was just because it was a fresh rebuild. ???
12/21 trans fails. I take it in. They say the valve body needs a rebuild. Why did they not do that when I paid them $2700 to rebuild the trans?
A few MONTHS later, I pick the car up. They never disconnected the battery or put it on a charger. Dead battery, I'm out $250.
2/22 another car goes in for diagnosis on trans issue. They kill that battery then destroy the stereo by putting 10 amps on it. Out another $250 plus the cost if the stereo that they refuse to fix.
11/23 trans from first car failing again. Guy I talk to on the phone says to bring it in and confirms I'm still good under warranty as 3 years doesn't expire til 1/24.
5/24 (SIX MONTHS LATER!) and after weekly phone calls asking about the car, they say the valve body needs a rebuild. Again. They say it'll cost $1200. I say it's still under warranty. Dead silence on the phone for like 10 seconds. He now claims its a 2 year warranty. Dead battery again, $250. As I drive home, I turn on the radio, fried just like the last one.
I pull over and call them. I tell them that not fixing my trans and killing multiple batteries then going back on their Word and changing the warranty is not right. But they need to at least fix the 2 stereos they damaged. He said he'd call around. That was last Friday. Now they don't answer my calls.
I'll be filing a police report this afternoon after work.
These guys are sheisters. I'm way worse off than I was 3 years ago because of them. We all know they're the cheapest. But do yourself a favor and pay a few hundred more for quality work and better service from Rideout or AAMCO. I wish I had. I'd have 2 working stereos and a car I could use. Now I just have regret for trusting these guys.

I have a 2004 chevy avalanche and the transmission needed rebuilding, as well as a whole lot of other things. Got my truck in on a Wednesday, they called me Friday saying it was ready for pickup. Very quick turnaround in time for the start of the next work week!
