I have been using Laroy's Tax Service (Larry specifically) for 15 years. Once I had a child with my partner, we started using Laroy's so they could work out how best to file taxes to optimize our return. The service has been great, the receptionist has always been super friendly on the phone and in person, turnaround time on tax returns is quick-comparable to some of the tax places that charge stout fees to get taxes back quickly. Cost is not prohibitive and representative of the service they provide.

I have been going to Laroy tax service for almost ten years and for the first eight, I had no issues and would have rated them five stars. In the last two years, the customer service has declined and I will not be a return customer. The returns prepared were incorrect and had to be amended multiple times, resulting in a delay of my refund.

They have screwed my taxes up two years in a row where they had to be amended and didn’t send in the right paperwork. Showed up for an appointment and they couldn’t find my name bc they had changed it around. After 20 years being a client they were incredibly rude. Three years in a row so we will never be back. He’s also very arrogant so if you want someone you can trust stay away!!

Terrible service. After being a client for years, I made an appointment with them over a month ago. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told that my name wasn’t in their system and that my preparer had someone else scheduled in my time slot. The receptionist seems to care less about the situation. Terrible service after being a loyal customer for years. I will not be back!

I have went here for probably 2 or 3 years to have my taxes prepared and never any trouble I feel like they do try to find as many ways to give you a break as possible and help you out which is great. However if you ever have any trouble like needing an extra form that you don't have with you it will be damn near impossible to get a hold of anybody and have them return your call. I have called five times in the last week and no one has bothered to return my call even though they have told me they will get right back to me. Today the receptionist acted like she couldn't be bothered. I am beyond frustrated and aggravated and after reading their other reviews it seems like this is normal for them.

I filed my 2020 income taxes with LaRoy tax service and they made a mistake that I caught that almost cost me $1,000 on my tax return. When I caught this and pointed it out I was told "It's only $1,000," with no apology. I was also told that they would be paying my state taxes. That this was a reason why my overall return would be less. I just received a letter with a penalty and daily interest from the state claiming my state income taxes were never paid. I called the state to verify. I called LaRoy where I was told multiple times by Tracy that I was a liar on both counts and that they never process payments for anyone. That I was responsible for this payment that they already told me was paid. That her employees would never say any of that or treat me rudely. That she "didn't in her heart believe it." No apology, just "I'm sorry for your misunderstanding." When I pointed out the poor customer service and asked if she was the owner of the company since I needed to file a formal complaint she said "I'm done," and hung up on me. So now I have to pay state taxes without having the money set aside to do so thinking that this was already handled. I will never file taxes through LaRoy again and advise against anyone else going there. Only giving one star because I can't post with zero.
