Food is gross.im sure they get way better food then what there serving..an then itsalways left overs which is not a bad thing but everyday..it's the same,salad,more salad and soggy macaroni,if people are donating,they are the sa me people donating the same stuff..my question is why don't they advertise,who and where the food came from..

Didnt give much but they had fresh peaches that were delicious and let us get as many as we wanted. That's why I gave 3 stars.

I went to go volunteer today. The lady answered the door and she seemed all nervous. I let her know I was there to volunteer. She said ok, volunteer or community service, she asks. I said, Volunteer ma'am. We then proceed to the next door. At the kitchen door she looks in and there is a guy there. He sees us and turns to us and seemed caught off guard and asked what do we need. I said I am here to volunteer. The guy seems confused and not sure what is happening. I said I signed up to volunteer and help today. I said i signed up online and have my picture added so you would recognize me when I got here. I am here to help, i am not doing community service for the courts. They looked confused. So I stood there for a moment. Then said ok, thanks for your time and left. I am so upset because I once used Salvation Army for things I needed and wanted to give back. I even signed up on the schedule. I dont understand why they are confused and make me feel like I am a criminal trying to slip in the back door or something. There is a reason I signed up. They would have the information at their fingers tips on her computer at the entry. I just wanted to help and here I am not helping and feeling like they made me feel like I was the creepy one. I just wanted to do some good and pay it forward, and here we are. The lady at the door and the dude in the kitchen act like it was strange. I felt extremely judged and unwanted. So much for coming out to feel like I am giving back to my community to help. Funny, cos I frequently help at the Rescue Mission and have never felt that way when I help there. Thought I would expand my volunteering time with the Salvation Army, but I guess not. So much for practicing good christian values and good service to the community, because I most definitely did Not feel that this morning when I came to volunteer at Salvation Army this morning. No wonder they are always asking for help, it is hard to willingly help when they treat the volunteers strangely.
****UPDATE*****
They reached out and apologized for the mistake on their end. They said that when you sign up, it is suppose to alert them and get an approval, however mine got through and it confused the morning. She apologized and we got it all straightened out. Please remember when signing up make sure to give yourself a few days so you can get approved and the system will be fully updated. Now you wont have to feel strange if you just show up. Thanks for the quick call back and response.
