We were headed to Indianapolis from Chicago, and this farm was halfway between the two cities. We decided to take a stop here to check it out. On their website, they suggested coming early in the morning to enjoy everything the farm has to offer. We arrived at 3 pm, and they closed at 5, so the lady at admissions said we only had time to either take a dairy farm tour or the pig farm tour. Unfortunately we paid the same price for the one although it was for three. Oh well. We chose the dairy farm tour that started at 315. Prior to boarding, we walked into a stone building with a lot of interactive things for kids to do: A play area with a slide, a cow you can draw on, tvs with games, and many more. We didn't have time to do everything because our bus was ready to board. The bus was clean and well maintained. We heard a pre-recorded audio about the farm as we drove to the site. Don't expect to actually pet or feed a cow here. They're worried about humans passing diseases to their cows, so we never physically got near one to touch. We drove through the a line of them, then entered buildings where we saw them through windows. The tour took about an hour, and it was fascinating for city folks like us. After the tour, we had about half an hour to check out the other buildings. We had just missed a live birth in the Birthing Barn, which would have been cool to see. The Pork building had a ropes course that you had to pay for, and if we had time, $5 would have been worth it. There were lots of photos ops in there as well. We went into the Crops building with only 10 minutes to spare, and that place had a lot of cool and interactive things to see and do. Finally, we stopped at the Cowfe to eat ice cream. Can definitely spend a few more hours here, but with a cranky 5.5 year old, the two hours was just enough.

Very fun place to go with young kids, so much activities especially in the summer when the climbing wall is going and the bounce pad is up! Fair Oaks also has a large variety of apples that you can pick yourself. Very fun!

Met some dear friends from Chicago at Fair Oaks Farms, which is about the half way point between Indy and Chicago. This spot was chosen because of it location and we have had fairly go service and meals in the past. We were seated right away however we waited over 45 minutes before our server approached us for our order. It was like no one was assigned to our table. After we ordered it to another 40 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was average at best. When finished we sat there with dirty dishes for over 30 minutes. I finally asked for the check and waited for the table to be cleared of the dirty dishes. The check came but the dishes remained until I asked a server to remove them. It's been over 3 years since we have dine at Fair Oaks and it has changed and not for the best.

Expensive but worth it. I always get the grilled cheese sandwich and some ice cream when I'm passing through, I usually come just for the cafe but I loved the attractions growing up in the Midwest I got to visit here several times over the years

Scandalous. We thought of a farm but instead they show a 5-star facade in front and intensive farming inside. A traumatic experience that would be inconceivable in my country. How disgusting ?

This place is the most cruel, inhumane excuse for a “tourist attraction”. The fact that children are even allowed on the premises to witness this horror is astonishing. This is a factory farm which profits off the abuse of precious, innocent, and intelligent animals and majorly contributes to the destruction of the environment. See the reports/undercover videos from 2019 online. A recent 2023 follow-up investigation found that the abuse has only WORSENED over the last four years (see the Animal Recovery Mission website for the full report - it will haunt your dreams). Despicable. The dairy industry IS the meat industry. To the owners, their employees, and the public that support this farm: “May the world treat you the way you treat animals.”

This farm was shown to abuse animals in 2019 and lost major corporate partners as a result( Coca Cola, etc.) As usual it was only after a public outcry. They promised improvements and got the partnerships back as soon as it died down and the public eye was off them. But a follow up in 2023 showed no better conditions for animals and continued sourcing of milk for Fair Life products.I grew up in a rural area and come from a farming family. If there was ever a reason for using animals as food, this type of corporate farm amusement park is definitely not it. Now as a primary care physician for over 20 years, I know there is no role for animals or animal products to be used in our diets or our lives to meet any of our needs in the 21st century. It’s clearly not good for animal health, not required or healthy for human health, and reflects poorly on our evolution as a society. We can and should demand better.

Very disappointing experience! We have stopped at the farmhouse restaurant on multiple occasions went passing through this area. We will not be back again.Out of the multiple items plated for our two meals, only one item was hot and fresh, the rest had clearly been sitting under the lights for quite some time. It was more than 30 minutes from ordering to food arriving at our table although the restaurant was not busy at all (probably less than 25% occupied).Clearly, the kitchen was having problems. Unfortunately, our server never lit a fire under the kitchen, nor with the manager until I asked to speak to a manager.Based on today’s experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Kind of boring for those as me were raised in villages. I have seen a lot of cows and pigs, and known well how to breed them. Nothing new to me. Especially the smells there is much stronger than I was used to. I couldn’t really enjoy it.

Absolutely fantastic. Zero complaints, crew is hard working, always makes me happy to see a manager assisting his crew and asking every table how their meal is. Food is immaculate; highly recommend. The winter lights display is outstanding! Got engaged there this year. All around a great establishment for dining/family time.
