After our pup sustained a serious leg injury with another boarding facility early this year, we decided to give AlphaK9 a try. We had a great experience with the 3 week Board & Train for our Goldendoodle. Our trainer, Hannah, went above & beyond, even giving our dog a bath before we picked her up. We also had no issues with daycare, short-term weekend boarding, and obedience classes. Unfortunately, we boarded for a week in October and ran into a problem. When we picked our dog up on 10/19, she was filthy and smelled terrible. At pick up, no one mentioned any issues. When I got her home, I bathed her twice and took her for a walk. It was apparent to me that she was having an issue—she squatted several times. So I took her to the vet and discovered she had a UTI. When I called AlphaK9 the next business day (10/21) asking questions about our dog’s boarding stay, Maddie (trainer) was very apologetic, said this was not the norm for how they do business, asked for a copy of my vet bill, and was quick to offer for us to bring our dog back for a free bath. She also said she would pass along the message to the owner to investigate and have them get back in touch with me. We appreciated the bath offer but declined so our dog could heal from her UTI. No response from the owner so I called and left a message on 10/28. No response from the owner so I called and left an another message on 11/1. On 11/1, I stopped by in person and spoke with Hannah. Hannah apologized and expressed frustration that I had not been called back. The owner was there in the back office and Hannah went back and talked to her to try and resolve the situation. The owner gave Hannah a check to reimburse our vet bill. While that was appreciated, I just wanted answers on what happened while my pet was in their care: was she missed for “potty breaks”? Was she having accidents in her kennel?, do they keep records of these things?, etc. And how were they planning to ensure that it wouldn’t happen again or, at the very least, would communicate that there was an issue?
High fives to trainers Hannah and Maddie for trying to help. Hannah and Maddie get 5 stars! But major hisses to owners Roger & Keli for lack of follow up, lack of communication, and “hiding” instead of owning up to the issue and providing an explanation and solid solution. The thing is, we are all human, and mistakes can happen. But ignoring your customers’ questions and concerns is very unprofessional. As owners, this is not a good way to do business, folks. You’ve lost a customer!

I’ve taken multiple dogs here. Really happy each time. The environment is great and my dogs have always felt comfortable and they have progressed very well. I appreciate the relationship they build with my pups. Will continue to use them as long as they have applicable classes.

Maddie did an amazing job with our two dogs. She does a great job of sitting down with you and explaining the process of the board and train and also explaining to us the owners why our dogs were behaving the way they were. Our older dog was becoming very reactive and after the 21 day board and train he is home and is very responsive to his commands and doesn’t go into a blind rage upon seeing other dogs and people. Our younger dog is very stubborn (a husky) but she took to the training so well and is thriving as well. I was very hesitant to leave our dogs for 3 weeks at any facility but I can say without a doubt that Alpha K9 U will take amazing care of your pet and treat them with so much care. Maddie loves what she does and it has reflected in the behavior of our dogs. Truly glad we went with Alpha K9 U for our dog training!

Maddie at Alpha K9 is such a talented reactive dog trainer who helped make our walks so much more enjoyable. Sterling (GSD) was so reactive around me that he tried to lunge and bark in Maddie's face and she did not even flinch. The 3 week board and train gave her enough time with Sterling to teach him what the rules of walks are. After he was done, we started taking the advanced class to help make sure that I am confident and knowledgeable of the training to pick up where she left off. Before Maddie at Alpha K9, Sterling would try to chase bikes, he would stare at every single person that walked by us, pull to meet with other dogs. Now he ignores just about everything except other dogs, which the advanced class is perfect for working on. She even helped work with his tolerance for his muzzle at my request, just in case. Maddie has opened up Sterling's world to where he can exist with others (a little bit over there) and I cannot recommend her enough.

We did intermediate puppy class and it was great! Our dog was trained in basic skills and we were given clear instructions on how to practice at home. Swimming was an excellent bonus that not many places offer. The price was reasonable. The trainers were always willing to provide additional instruction based on your dog’s particular behaviors. The playtime in the beginning was a really great part.

My Goldendoodle spent 21 days for puppy training. He had separation anxiety, wouldn’t walk on a leash and wouldn’t come when I called him. What a difference after his stay at AlphaK9.

So thankful for Maddie and the rest of the training staff at Alpha K9 for their training of our new rescue dog Maverick. We opted for the 3 week board and train for him and Maddie worked with us to provide regular updates on his progress and to troubleshoot some roadblocks she encountered because of his strong fear of other dogs (shoutout to hot dogs for the assist!). Maddie spent over an hour with us when we picked Maverick up to make sure we both felt confident in using the commands with him that he had learned. We’ve been attending weekly classes with Maddie since Maverick has been home and she’s been great with providing quick tips and tricks for improving both his confidence and ours. Thank you so much Maddie for quickly identifying the help that Maverick so desperately needed!

As a professional myself I spent a lot of time researching and asking for recommendations for a board and train program for our rambunctious GSP. Maddie and Abby were absolutely amazing. The constant updates they provided to make sure that, even though we were without our sweet puppy, it felt like we were there with him the whole time!! Our dog came back a completely different dog! So well behaved. Maddie and Abby spent time with us teaching us how to continue things beyond the time there. I can't say enough great things about how great they are. Not only do they have a customer for life, I will sing their praises to anyone who asks! Thanks again all!!

We have had great experiences with Alpha K9! We recently had Maddie train our 1 year old Viszla in the 21 day board and train program. She took such great care of our puppy and we are very impressed with how much he learned in just a short time. She listened to what we wanted to work on, and kept us informed as the training went on with both notes and pictures. Highly recommend her and Alpha K9!

We were so happy with the results of our puppy going to Alpha K9. Maddie was the trainer and she did an amazing job and totally bonded with our baby. Maddie provided updates on his progress throughout training and was great at guidance after the process. He's done great transitioning back home and continuing all the good things he learned.
