Had a nail in tire and they said it couldn't be patched. Went down the street to Belle Tire and they patched it right up.

I made an appointment. I came early for my appointment and tried selling myself on 4 new tires when I only needed a flat fixed. Then they told me it would be two hours after my appointment unitl they could get me in. I went to Belle Tire down the road, and they had me out in an hour.

I brought in my own 4 tires and expensive rims. They did a terrific job mounting and balancing, being very careful to not inflict any cosmetic damage.

Rim had damage. That's absolutely understandable with Indys current road conditions. Asked for the spare to be put on. They checked the date and stated they couldn't. I asked to buy a tire, and they didn't have one to sell me. Yep, you guessed it, the put the car outside and I had to have someone come and change the tire to the spare in the parking lot of a tire shop. There's absolutely no excuse that can be given to me about this.

I've used these guys multiple times (probably 4-5 times in the last few years) and they generally charge about $20/tire that you have mounted. I typically buy my tires online and then take them to discount to have them mounted and balanced and they've done a decent job (sometimes they air them up to weird pressures like half the tires are at 25 and half are at 40, but that's an easy fix).
This time, I took my other vehicle in to have 4 tires replaced with tires I had bought online and when I picked it up, I was on my way out of town and for some reason the bill was over $150. I had booked online and said "I have 4 tires that I need mounted and balanced" and when I arrived, they acted like they knew what was going on and didn't ask me anything or give me a quote or anything so I assumed it would be the typical $80ish dollars to have the tires mounted and balanced.
So, since I was in a hurry, I paid the $156 and took off. The following day, I looked at the receipt and saw that they charged me a dismounting and mounting fee plus tire disposal, which was all fine. But, there was an additional fee of $22/tire which just said "balance/valve lifetime" on it.
So, I called them and spoke with someone there who said that that $22 fee was basically a fee that they are supposed to charge because I didn't buy the tires from them. I said, that doesn't really make sense, you haven't done any additional work or anything and I've had multiple sets of tires installed by you guys, lots of which were more complex (typically I'm installing bigger tires on trucks or smaller tires on cars, but this was literally stock size tires on a stock wheel) and I've never been charged this fee.
He replied that they've had a lot of turnover and that a lot of people there didn't know they were supposed to be charging the fee, but the way I was charged is the correct way.
So, seems pretty weird that I would have to basically pay twice as much as normal because I didn't buy tires from them when I've never bought tires from them before and never been charged that fee. Regardless of whether their corporate says they should be charging a fee to people who don't buy tires from them or not, this is a shady practice and I'll definitely be going elsewhere from now on to have tires mounted and balanced, not because of the cost, but because they tried to sneak this fee in on me without properly explaining it.
One more note is that when I picked the vehicle up and they told me the total, despite being in a hurry, I still questioned it and asked "Was it because you had to rebuild the TPMS or something?" and the that person said "Yes."
So, essentially it's some sort of terrible business practice, or worst case scam that they're pulling on their customers.
I totally understand that just getting $80 for a tire change isn't a big sale like bamboozling someone into spending $1200-1500 on a set of Michelins, but it's still ridiculous to get charged double the normal amount because I didn't buy the tires from them. Just don't install tires you didn't sell if that's your business model.
Just wanted to warn people to watch your receipts because who knows what they're squeezing in as far as charges for people who aren't car people or don't know what they're looking at.

Very unprofessional and rude. I’ve had to ask several times for them to make sure sensors are set correctly and they always ask if my husband told me what’s wrong with it, apparently women can’t know about tires.
