Not only did it cost over $80 to have two pair of pants slimmed and shortened, the new pair was $120 khakis that are absolutely ruined. When I put them on, the outside seam twists to the middle of my leg, so the amount of material removed from the front and the back was no where near even. The jeans were good, but this is the second mess up in three items, not to mention $80+ for two paints to be brought in and shortened? Never again, never ever ever will I go there again. Pricey, and way below sub par quality.. now I’m out $200, $120 for the pants and $80 on a poor quality craftsmanship.

I came in for my wedding dress alteration. It was a size 12 dress that I needed to bring down to a size 4. It was a big job, and a huge dress. The bussle looked beautiful when it was put up - that was the only good thing I can say about them. When I went in for my second fitting, I had some concerns and was immediately brushed off “there’s nothing that can be done about this - in your situation, i would leave it as is” the dress did not fit snug under the armpit and there was problem with the boning and the breast pads showed through. She assured me it was the lighting from her window. I paid (a lot) and left and was stressed the rest of the day. I called back the next morningsaying i really think something could be fixed. She was hesitant and said. You can bring it in if you want, but it’s not going to fix the issue. Kind of in disbelief, i took it to Alex Tailor for a second opinion. They said absolutely it could be fixed and opened the dress right in front of me to show how some seams were not even complete. They saved my dress within a week, fixed the boning, made it fit on the sides, new breast pads that did not show through the front. At my wedding, the french bussel that Georgetown alteration did was VERY difficult. The ties were supposed to be numbered but the numbers smeared and it took all of my bridesmaids and several tries to figure out how to get it done. So overall, poor customer service, and while i do think they could have fixed it, it was just an incomplete job - not something a bride should have to stress about on her big day, or how I expected to be spoken to. I can’t say enough good things about Alex Tailor in Castleton - they did my husbands suit alterations as well!Services: Wedding gown alterations

My daughter and I had a great experience with this place. Very knowledgeable owner and associate. They were quick in altering my dress as a Mother of the Bride, and did a great job advising us and also fixing some damage on the wedding dress that initially was done by a different alteration business. The result was fabulous! Price was reasonable. Very happy with their help and will use them again. Thank you!

I've been to Georgetown Alterations about two times within the past 2 years. My first time I had some pants altered and the customer service was kind of ...... eh... They did not really take the time to accurately measure my pants I was getting altered which I had to end up going to another place to get them fixed. The sewing on the bottom looked like it was rushed and fell apart after a wash or two. The second time was actually about one month ago... Again the customer service was...eh... Again I seemed to have been rushed into the fitting room and then the lady didn't even try to care about asking me questions just asked me the length I wanted which was not what I ended up getting - about 5 to 6 inches too long. I waited over a week to get the pants done and was highly disappointed and paid about $20 or so a piece Both pairs of pants I got altered were just terrible. Would recommend finding another alteration place for your needs. Maybe I just had a sad, depressing story with this place but man....Service: Alterations

I went here last week to have a bridesmaid dress altered. I just walked in (no appointment). They pinned my dress right away (no wait), and they had the dress done quickly (I didn’t need it until May but they finished it in one week). When i tried on the altered dress, the alterations (hemming 3 layers of fabric and pinning down some side fabric near my hip) were done perfectly. The prices were fair/ competitive with local places.

The entire team at Georgetown Alterations are friendly, professional, and exact with their alterations. Anna was able to hem a designer gown for me with a week’s notice before an event. I even had a somewhat complicated strap laced incorrectly, and Anna and Mai noticed and adjusted it to fit much better.Best (and quickest) alteration service I’ve visited. I’m thrilled with the gown they adjusted and will definitely be going back!

We go to Georgetown for all of our alteration needs. We recently took my daughter’s wedding dress there and had it altered and added a bustle. They did an AMAZING job! It looks absolutely beautiful. You can’t even tell they did anything to the dress. They are also very reasonably priced. It took a few weeks to have the first round of alterations done and she came in and had the second round for the bustle and turnaround for that was a week. I will be taking my other daughter to have her bridesmaid dress hemmed there this week.
